The primary purpose of this role is to support the development and implementation of the portfolio management and technical excellence initiatives for products/portfolios within the remit to ensure financial targets and portfolio strategies are achieved.
About the role
- Support the development and execution of portfolio strategies, informed by market, competitor, and customer insights, and aligned with financial plans.
- Monitor market dynamics, competitor activity, and portfolio performance to support strategic and financial objectives.
- Analyse risk appetite, underwriting rules, and accumulation exposure to ensure alignment with risk frameworks.
- Evaluate portfolio performance by identifying key drivers, variances, trends, and growth opportunities, including underperformance remediation.
- Prepare and contribute portfolio insights, analysis, and reporting for governance forums and stakeholders.
- Partner with pricing teams to review pricing analyses, inform commercial pricing decisions, and implement pricing changes.
- Support enhancements to rating tools, data sources, and enterprise financial planning processes to improve portfolio outcomes.
About you
- Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Science, Finance or related disciplines highly desirable.
- Demonstrated portfolio management experience for a complex, matrixed financial services organisation.
- Deep technical Insurance experience in managing commercial insurance products using data insights
- Working experience across Data Analytics solutions eg SAS, SQL, Python and visualization tools is essential.
- Comprehensive knowledge of products, industry practices and governing legislation.
- Expert, strategic, tactical selling and relationship management capability
- Proven analytical and critical thinking abilities to evaluate complex alternatives, make confident judgements and develop innovative, sophisticated solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact and influence.
- A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
