About the role


This is a Line 2 role in which the Senior Analyst, Financial and Insurance Risk will be responsible for providing support to quantitative financial risk assessments, monitoring and reporting activities, as well as to challenge, review and validate financial risk insights across the enterprise.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Conduct regular identification and quantitative assessment of key financial risks, including insurance, capital and investment risks.
  • Enhance and automate financial risk reporting using risk analytics, data science techniques and AI-enabled tools where appropriate.
  • Support risk assessment processes and prepare risk management materials, providing insights backed by quantitative analytics.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate, timely risk reports, presentations and information requests for stakeholders and Group reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with and support the broader Risk Management team on ongoing initiatives and activities.
  • Foster a positive risk culture and drive continuous improvement across risk management practices.

 

About you

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in actuarial science, economics, risk management, data science, statistics or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Experience in analytics, reporting or risk roles ideally within insurance, or financial services, consulting or other complex organisations.
  • Exposure to machine learning, predictive analytics, data science or AI-enabled solutions is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify errors, inconsistencies and data quality issues.
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret data and generate meaningful insights.
  • Excellent communication skills and working knowledge of tools such as Python, R, SQL, Power BI or cloud-based analytics platforms.
