About the role

 

The primary purpose of this role is to lead the way in utilising Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning techniques to enable Allianz Australia Limited (AAL) to deliver better customer outcomes, automate processes and make optimal business decisions which deliver real organisational value.

 

  • Lead the development of end to end, data driven and AI solutions ensuring value is delivered.
  • Mentor data scientists and provide technical guidance.
  • Investigate new methodologies and contribute to the technical expertise of the team.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation through analytics and AI in the business of Allianz.
  • Work in a cross functional capacity to understand the key business problems which need to be addressed and propose solutions.
  • Ensure AI systems comply with local and group standards. Contribute to best practices for responsible AI.
  • Lead presentations with internal stakeholders, ensuring solutions are understood so stakeholders can confidently make the business decisions required.

 

About you

 

  • Demonstrated experience at a senior level in a data Scientist role, applying Data Science Methods to solve real-world business problems within a commercial setting.
  • Previous experience working on projects leveraging GenAI concepts.
  • Expert in programming across one or more of R, Python and SQL.
  • Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity to provide pragmatic commercial solutions which meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant discipline (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics).
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships internally and externally with stakeholders, intermediaries and service providers.
  • Previous experience in mentoring junior data scientists.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact and influence.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks and manage competing resources and demands and ability to structure complex projects into work packages.
  • A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
