The primary purpose of this Line 1 role is to assist in leading the implementation, execution and monitoring of the risk and compliance management framework.
About the role
- Provide ongoing communication and advice to Risk Owners and Divisional Management on operational and compliance risks specific to the People and Culture Division, including payroll, work health and safety, and employee relations.
- Advise on the design, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of division-specific compliance and risk frameworks, policies, procedures, and controls, ensuring alignment with the defined risk appetite.
- Support the implementation and promotion of corporate compliance and risk frameworks, liaising with the Second Line of Defence to ensure divisional risk management activities, such as operational compliance plans and risk assessments, are up-to-date and adhered to.
- Provide guidance on current and future risk management challenges, developing processes to manage risks in line with the Allianz Risk Management Framework and Board-approved risk appetite.
- Assist in the development, execution, and monitoring of remedial actions for operational loss/risk incidents, identifying root causes, implementing preventive measures, and ensuring timely resolution with escalation as needed.
- Oversee and report on key risk indicators, internal control performance, breaches, incidents, emerging risks, control assurance, and regulatory changes to relevant stakeholders.
About you
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (preferred).
- Significant leadership experience in risk management, compliance or internal audit role in a complex, matrixed financial services (corporate) organization.
- Demonstrated experience in assessing the level of risk and in developing and executing plans to mitigate risk and technical understanding of design and operating effectiveness of controls.
- Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity and provide pragmatic commercial solutions to meet stakeholder expectations.
- Proven analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret a range of data, identify patterns, trends and links that inform judgements and solutions.
- Proven understanding of the laws, legislation, regulations and prudential standards which man affect a general insurer.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact and influence.
