About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Operations & Monitoring Engineer with strong expertise in CI/CD, cloud monitoring, automation, and enterprise batch operations. This role will be responsible for ensuring system reliability, automating workflows, and proactively addressing operational issues across global platforms.
You will work across multiple teams including System Operations, Global Command and Control Center (GCCC), and ABS Batch, leveraging your experience in AWS, Azure, Python, automation tools, and monitoring platforms to maintain high availability and performance of business-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
System Operations
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for development, test, and production environments.
- Automate configuration management and deployments using Ansible, Python, and GitHub.
- Manage Red Hat Linux systems and troubleshoot operational issues.
- Collaborate with developers and operations engineers to streamline software delivery processes.
- Maintain and update technical documentation in Jira/Confluence.
Monitoring & Incident Management (GCCC)
- Monitor AWS (CloudWatch) and Azure cloud resources for performance and availability.
- Utilize Grafana and Prometheus for observability and dashboard creation.
- Manage and resolve incidents in ServiceNow, ensuring SLA adherence.
- Lead major incident response, coordinating with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime.
ABS Batch Operations
- Manage and schedule Control-M batch jobs for multiple environments (Test, Pre-Prod, Production).
- Design and configure Control-M job flows for global projects.
- Perform JCL scripting and monitor job execution.
- Conduct application upgrades, license updates, and maintenance for Allianz Business Systems.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (Jenkins, Ansible, GitHub Actions).
- Proficiency in AWS (CloudWatch, EC2), Azure Monitoring, and related cloud services.
- Solid knowledge of scripting in Python for automation and infrastructure tasks.
- Familiarity with Red Hat Linux administration.
- Experience with enterprise monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus) and ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, Jira).
- Strong understanding of batch job scheduling tools (Control-M) and mainframe job control language (JCL).
- Ability to work within Scrum/Agile methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GitOps practices for infrastructure and application deployments.
- Background in root cause analysis and proactive problem-solving.
- Exposure to global operations, monitoring data centers across multiple regions.
- Experience training and onboarding new team members.
