Overall Objectives of Job:

  • Play a critical role in overseeing and coordinating the planning, scheduling, and execution of software releases for a large-scale program.
  • Primary responsibility will be ensuring seamless integration and delivery of high-quality software products across multiple infrastructure teams while managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, along with a deep understanding of release management and project lifecycle processes.
  • To serve as a bridge between technical and business teams, driving the alignment of goals, priorities, and timelines while delivering consistent value to the organization and experienced in navigating complex environments, managing competing priorities, and working under tight deadlines.
  • Plan, design, and manage enterprise-scale release schedules that align with the organization's overarching strategy and goals.
  • Coordinate with development, QA, engineering, and operational teams on execution plans and timelines for releases.
  • Identify dependencies, constraints, and risks associated with release schedules and work proactively to mitigate potential issues.
  • Regularly interact with a wide spectrum of stakeholders, including program managers, business unit leaders, and technical teams, ensuring that project timelines and deliverables are adhered to.
  • Measure and report on the impact of release outcomes, providing actionable insights to continually improve performance and efficiency.
  • Establish and oversee streamlined processes for tracking, managing, and controlling all aspects of release activities.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational quality and risk management standards throughout the software release process.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in release management tools and practices, mentoring junior team members to elevate the capabilities of the broader release management function.
  • Create and maintain documentation such as standards and processes for other teams and people to follow
  • Collaborate with the change management team to support auditable, efficient and effective release practice into controlled environments
  • Implement and manage access control lists on tools and environments to ensure the permissions are granted to the correct users and groups
  • Work with our security team to ensure defined standards are being met across the software development lifecycle
  • Create and run training sessions for members of  so that they can improve knowledge and become self-sufficient
  • Implement, enhance and actively support quality standards with the aim of generating clean code that is free of bugs and vulnerabilities while reducing technical debt throughout the build process
  • Handle change control – Service Now change control and release co-ordination for production deployments.
  • Create change records in Service Now capturing the requirement and justification, risk and impact assessment and any mitigating factors, implementation plan, backout and test plans.
  • Conduct Release meeting to ensure that upcoming changes are raised and planned in a timely manner and any conflicts and risks managed      
  • Support annual audit

 

Qualification, Experience and Skills

 

Essential:

  • Atleast 8-10 years of experience in release management.
  • Strong expertise in project lifecycle methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and other hybrid practices.
  • Demonstrated success in navigating large-scale programs involving cross-functional and multinational teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments and managing competing priorities effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships across technical and business teams.
  • Proficiency in release management tools, such as Jira, Confluence, and CI/CD pipelines implementation.
  • Basic knowledge of AI technologies, principles, and their practical use.

Desirable:

  • Handson experience in ServiceNow, Jira and Confluence
  • Knowledge on Devops Practices
  • Knowledge of Cloud Environments with AI exposure.
  • Understanding of DevSecOps principles and integration of security practices into CI/CD pipelines.
