About the Job 

 

The Data & Analytics Platforms Team (DAP) develops and runs central platforms and data products, which enable the Allianz Operating Entities (OEs) to generate value from data & analytics at scale. The major offering is the Allianz Data Platform (ADP) - a PaaS offering -, which comprises necessary capabilities to store, transfer and analyze data, as well as running data & analytics products. In addition, ADP also serves capabilities for ML (ops) and GenAI / Agentic AI use cases. 

 

The AI & Cloud Principal Engineer will be responsible to shape the future ADP offering (evaluate, design and implement technical platform capabilities), both for Data, Machine Learning and GenAI / Agentic AI offering. Moreover, he/she will advice local implementation teams how to best apply platform capabilities for effective / efficient local application built / use case implementation. 

 

The candidate should bring a deep understanding of cloud computing (data storage, security, and recovery), market leading data platform solutions (e.g. Databricks) and ML / AI / GenAI technologies. 

 

 

What you do

 

  • Act as a thought leader and expert on AI (ML, LLM, Agentic) and Data Platform capabilities, advising customers and internal teams on the latest technology and valuable implementation strategies within Allianz.
  • Design, build, and test AI and Cloud architectures in an enterprise setup to ensure efficient transfer and storage of large amounts of data, maintaining information accuracy and security during data transfers.
  • Leverage AI capabilities to create high-performing IT services within the existing landscape, troubleshooting and solving technical issues with creativity and prior knowledge.
  • Vet cloud providers and third-party services to ensure high-quality offerings for storage, compute, and LLMs, while creating standard operating procedures and policy documentation for data transfer and storage.
  • Stay updated with developments in AI (ML, LLM, Agentic AI) and cloud computing solutions, providing guidance to cross-functional teams on cloud and AI data access, especially during major transfers, updates, or changes.
  • Serve as the AI & Cloud architect subject-matter expert for the entire department, offering strategic insights and leadership.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices in all processes, fostering innovation and efficiency in data management.

 

 

What you bring

 

  • Deep understanding of AI (ML, LLM, Agentic) concepts, algorithms, and frameworks, with proficiency in designing and implementing AI solutions that align with business objectives using popular platforms like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Azure AI, and AWS AI.
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, software application, and design, with experience using major cloud computing services such as Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Ability to design scalable and robust enterprise architectures that integrate AI technologies into existing systems, identifying integration points and ensuring interoperability with other enterprise applications, databases, and services.
  • Strong cloud migration and data management skills, emphasizing data privacy and security, along with excellent problem-solving capabilities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate with cross-functional departments and teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, with five years’ experience as a Cloud Architect or similar role.
  • Relevant industry certifications, such as Microsoft Azure or AWS, are highly desirable; proficiency in English is required.
