About the Job
The Innovation Experience Technologist is a senior role within the R&D (Research & Development) Center Europe at Allianz Technology. You design and maintain immersive technology experiences that inspire visitors and demonstrate the art of the possible — blending deep IT expertise with creative experience design to turn the R&D Center into a dynamic, showroom-like innovation environment.
What you do:
- Design, build, and continuously evolve immersive technology showcases integrating AI, AR/VR, robotics, and other emerging technologies into interactive visitor experiences.
- Monitor technology trends and act as the R&D Center's technology scout — rapidly prototyping and testing new concepts for compelling demonstrations.
- Manage the R&D Center's Content Management System (CMS) and full technical infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network operations for all installations.
- Define the R&D Center's showcase strategy in collaboration with leadership, ensuring alignment with company priorities and innovation opportunities.
- Engage with technology vendors, startups, and academic partners to evaluate and integrate cutting-edge tools and ideas.
- Bridge complex technologies and visitor understanding — gathering feedback and continuously refining experiences to maximize engagement.
- Identify opportunities to scale successful showcase concepts into broader business applications or customer-facing solutions.
- Document technical specifications, user guides, and operational procedures for all showcases and installations.
What you bring:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in IT, software engineering, systems integration, or technology implementation.
- Strong technical knowledge across emerging technology domains including AI/ML, AR/VR, cloud platforms, and mobile technologies; programming and scripting capabilities to build prototypes.
- Proven ability to design engaging, interactive experiences that make complex technologies accessible — portfolio of successful technology experience projects is a plus.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with resilience and creativity to drive projects independently from concept to completion.
- Continuous learning attitude — passionate about staying ahead of technology trends and active in innovation communities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive visitors.
- Willingness to work predominantly on-site at the Allianz Campus in Unterföhring; strong alignment with global R&D Center locations.
- Fluent English required; German language skills are a plus.
