About the Job
This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and creative experience design within Allianz Technology's R&D Center Europe. As an intern, you will directly support the Innovation Experience Technologist in creating, maintaining, and evolving immersive technology showcases that inspire visitors and demonstrate the transformative potential of emerging technologies.
This internship is ideal for students passionate about technology innovation, hands-on prototyping, and experiential design. You'll gain practical experience working with AI, AR/VR, robotics, and other emerging technologies while contributing to real projects that shape how visitors experience and understand innovation at Allianz. This is a hands-on role where you'll build showcase prototypes, assist with the setup of the installations, research emerging technologies, and help create engaging visitor experiences.
What you do
- Assist in building, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting interactive technology demonstrations, including hardware setup, configuration, and documentation
- Support the development of prototypes and proof-of-concepts using emerging technologies like AI, AR/VR, IoT, and assist with coding, scripting, and integration tasks
- Research and monitor emerging technology trends, prepare summaries and presentations, and evaluate tools or vendors for potential integration into showcases
- Manage updates in the Content Management System (CMS), create multimedia content, and maintain digital displays and technical documentation
- Prepare showcases for visitor tours, support demonstrations, answer questions, and gather feedback to improve visitor experiences
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on innovation projects, contribute to brainstorming sessions, and assist with project documentation and reporting
- Experiment with new tools and platforms, propose ideas for new visitor experiences, and develop engaging interactive demonstrations
What you bring
- Currently enrolled in a degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, Interaction Design, or a related field, with strong academic performance in relevant coursework
- Proficient in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java) with basic knowledge of web technologies, mobile development, and emerging tech like AI/ML or AR/VR
- Passionate about technology innovation, creative thinking, and experimenting with new tools, with a portfolio of personal projects or hackathon experience being highly valued
- Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable to dynamic environments, while being a collaborative team player
- Effective communicator in English, capable of explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences and working with cross-functional teams
- Experience with AR/VR platforms, AI/ML frameworks, or UX/UI design is a plus, along with any prior work in innovation labs or experiential technology projects
- Willing to work on-site at the Allianz Campus in Unterföhring, with a commitment to global collaboration across R&D Center locations for consistent innovation standards
You can start immediately and are interested in an internship (38 h/week) for a period of ideally 6 months or longer.
