Role Overview   

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our international Finance and Accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making processes. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles,  the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and to collaborate in an international team set-up.

 

What you do:

- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HGB/IFRS.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.
- Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and providing necessary documentation.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff (near-/offshore), providing guidance and support for their professional development.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in the preparation of tax returns.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and financial projects.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and industry best practices.
- Support the implementation and optimization of SAP FI systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing financial processes.
- Train and support team members in the use of SAP FI systems, ensuring efficient utilization and troubleshooting issues.

 

What you bring:

- Master degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on financial closing, reporting and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of HGB/IFRS and experience with financial audits.
- Proficiency in accounting software SAP FI and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills in English and German, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
