Job Purpose
The Senior Consultant position for Governance, Procurement and Contract Management Consulting is aimed at professionals with experience in governance frameworks, procurement processes, third-party management, contract lifecycle management, and process optimization.
Senior Consultants are expected to design and implement practical, business-oriented solutions that help Allianz internal clients strengthen governance structures, improve procurement and contracting processes, enhance compliance with internal standards, and increase operational efficiency. Candidates are expected to bring strong functional expertise, structured problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with senior stakeholders across different Allianz entities.
The position is based in Munich, Germany.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead consulting projects for Allianz internal clients in the areas of governance, procurement, third-party management, and contract management.
• Assess existing governance structures, procurement workflows, and contract management processes, identifying improvement opportunities and implementation measures.
• Support the design and implementation of target operating models, governance frameworks, process standards, roles and responsibilities, and control mechanisms.
• Advise clients on procurement and contract management best practices, including demand management, supplier governance, contract lifecycle management, documentation standards, and process efficiency.
• Coordinate project execution with relevant stakeholders across business functions, procurement, legal, compliance, risk, operations, and IT.
• Translate complex governance, procurement, and contracting requirements into clear, actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.
• Prepare high-quality project deliverables, including process maps, governance concepts, maturity assessments, implementation roadmaps, decision papers, and management presentations.
• Support the development and acquisition of new consulting opportunities in the areas of governance, procurement, contract management, and operational excellence.
• Act as a trusted advisor for clients and project teams, contributing functional expertise and ensuring high-quality project delivery.
Job Requirements
• University degree in business administration, economics, law, procurement, supply chain management, finance, information technology, or a related field.
• Master's degree in a relevant field is desirable.
Required experience
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in consulting, governance, procurement, contract management, legal operations, compliance, risk management, or process optimization.
• Experience in project and process management methods, process design, process documentation, and continuous improvement.
• Experience in client-facing environments, preferably with exposure to senior stakeholders or management-level audiences.
• Practical experience in at least one of the following areas: governance framework design; procurement process improvement; contract lifecycle management; third-party or supplier governance; operational risk or control frameworks; legal or compliance operations; transformation or implementation projects.
Required skills
• English proficiency at C1 level. German proficiency at B2 level or above is desirable.
• Advanced MS Office proficiency, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to structure complex problems and develop pragmatic solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to prepare clear, concise, and executive-ready presentations.
• Strong project management capabilities and ability to work independently in complex environments.
• High client orientation, ownership mindset, and ability to manage multiple priorities under time pressure.
• Strong team player attitude with a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset.
Desired certifications / experience
• Project management certifications, such as Agile, Scrum, PMP, Prince2, or equivalent.
• Procurement or supply chain certifications, such as CIPS or equivalent.
• Experience with contract lifecycle management tools, procurement platforms, workflow tools, or GRC systems.
• Experience with governance, risk, compliance, internal control, or audit-related topics.
• Experience in the insurance or financial services industry.
• Experience working in an international environment.
• Knowledge of outsourcing governance, third-party risk management, regulatory requirements, or operational resilience topics is a plus.
