Senior Finance & SAP Solutions Expert (m/f/d) at Allianz SE

Who will you join?

The Accounting Hub, as part of Group Accounting and Reporting (H2), is a central provider of accounting functions for Allianz entities in Germany and worldwide. We deliver financial services across investment accounting, subledger accounting, closing & reporting, and the maintenance and development of our financial systems.

The Finance Systems Overarching team operates and maintains core finance and accounting applications across a number of OEs and plays a critical role in shaping the future finance landscape through the Group initiative SimpliFi. This is a high-accountability role, requiring full ownership of outcomes in a complex, cross-functional environment.

How can you make an impact?

You will own your remit, act on your own initiative, and deliver sustainable outcomes. Specifically, you will:

• Define, drive, and deliver financial solutions and optimized end-to-end processes in close collaboration with business, IT, and service providers
• Enable smooth decision-making and transparency through rigorous documentation
• Ensure robust testing strategies are applied for all solutions delivered under your responsibility
• Define and set up automated closing processes in relevant finance systems across OEs; own the resolution of errors and issues during the closing cycle, including escalation where necessary
• Review audit findings relating to financial applications, identify viable courses of action, and drive implementation of mitigating measures
• Provide support for complex issues in relevant ERP systems, including cross-module and cross-system scenarios; deliver sustainable long-term solutions alongside short-term fixes and ensure documentation of both
• Lead project streams within your area of expertise
• Act as a subject-matter expert for the Group initiative SimpliFi, covering the data model, technical accounting data flows, and closing processes
• Establish and own OE operational processes under SimpliFi team responsibility: this includes understanding both technical configuration and underlying finance processes in depth, designing new processes in line with global strategy, and proactively identifying harmonization opportunities, improvement potential, and AI applicability across OEs and systems

What are you made of?

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Informatics or comparable qualification
• Experience: Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience, with at least 2 years carrying direct accountability for finance systems or closing processes within a large, complex organisation
• SAP expertise: Deep, practical knowledge of SAP Accounting (R/3 or S/4HANA), including system logic, cross-module dependencies, and the ability to navigate and interpret configuration and customising
• Analytical thinking: Ability to identify patterns and root causes in complex data and processes, rapidly distilling key issues and providing actionable insight
• Finance know-how: Comprehensive finance and insurance knowledge enabling cross-departmental thinking and acting
• Project management: Demonstrated experience managing or leading project streams, including stakeholder management and delivery accountability
• Communication: Ability to convey information clearly and effectively, adapting to the audience at all levels of the organisation, both verbally and in writing
• Languages: Full professional proficiency in English required; basic German is an advantage
     

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with the SimpliFi Group Initiative, including familiarity with its data model or transformation scope
• Background in insurance or asset management business functions, management consulting, or finance technology
• Practical experience applying Generative AI or other advanced analytical tools in a finance or accounting context
• Prior experience within Allianz or comparable large insurance groups
