About the Job 

As the Tax Manager at Allianz Technology, you will hold central ownership of VAT matters across our international IT group, ensuring compliance and strategic alignment with global tax standards. You will be responsible for defining and continuously improving group-wide VAT standards and processes, assessing complex VAT topics related to digital business models, and supporting local entities in VAT compliance and audits. Additionally, you will oversee tax reporting under local GAAP and IFRS, manage GloBE/Pillar II coordination, and take end-to-end responsibility for Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR). Your role will involve close collaboration with Group Tax, Finance, Controlling, and Accounting during the close process, and you will provide tax support for strategic projects and international reorganizations.

 

What you do

  • Participation in handling inquiries from IT teams regarding sales and payroll tax issues arising from ongoing business operations.
  • Central ownership of VAT matters across the international IT group, defining and improving group-wide VAT standards and processes.
  • Ensure accurate and high-quality tax reporting under local GAAP and IFRS, analyzing tax metrics and collaborating with Group Tax, Finance, Controlling, and Accounting during the close process.
  • Support in responding to inquiries from ongoing audits concerning VAT and payroll tax.
  • Coordinate international tax data collection, review GloBE effective tax rates, manage external advisors, and provide strategic tax advice to management.
  • Assist with tax-related tasks for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • End-to-end responsibility for group-wide Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR).
  • Monitor international tax developments with a focus on digitalization.
  • Optimization, automation, and standardization of processes and procedures between IT business and the tax department.

 

What you bring

  • Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Law, or a comparable field, preferably with a focus on taxation.
  • Several years of senior-level experience in an international group, tax advisory, or the IT sector.
  • Strong expertise in VAT (especially digital services), tax reporting, GloBE/Pillar II, and CbCR.
  • Proven experience in managing international stakeholders and decentralized structures.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and tax/reporting tools.
  • Strategic mindset, high level of ownership, and strong communication skills.
  • An understanding of and practical experience with the German tax system would be an advantage.
  • Fluent in English and German is a must.
  • Basic knowledge of AI technologies, principles, and their practical use.
