130 years of trust, time to shape what's next. Allianz Group is one of the world's leading insurers and asset managers - built on over a century of stability, expertise, and financial strength. Allianz Services is where that legacy meets the future. 8,200+ people. Eight countries. Three continents. We deliver specialized services to clients within Allianz Group, powered by AI, advanced analytics, and a mindset that refuses to stand still. From core insurance operations to engineering and consulting services, we reimagine how insurance works. What truly sets us apart are our people and the trusted partnerships we build, anchored in our values of expertise, integrity, and empowerment. We don't support the business. We shape it.
We highly welcome candidates with a genuine interest and affinity for Information Technology (IT) and Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI), as these attributes are considered valuable assets to our team.
About the Role
We are seeking a Working Student who is passionate about Agentic AI and its power to reinvent business processes. In this Munich-based role (hybrid, 15–20 hours/week alongside your studies), you will support technical engineering and business consulting – helping design and deploy next-generation AI solutions while learning how large-scale change is guided in a regulated enterprise. You’ll work alongside a global team of experts building multi-agent AI systems (Agentic AI) across end-to-end insurance operations, from initial discovery and solution design to full production rollout and adoption. If you have a strong technical foundation, excellent communication skills, and are currently studying towards a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, this role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience contributing to Allianz’s transformation. (German language skills at B1+ level are a plus.)
Key Responsibilities
• AI Solution Delivery: Design, build, and deploy AI-powered solutions – focusing on Generative AI and agentic multi-agent systems – to transform core insurance processes. Manage end-to-end delivery from ideation to production rollout, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Technical Solutioning: Define solution architectures on Azure/AWS, prototype with Python and SQL, and implement robust data pipelines and integrations (APIs, event-driven workflows). Use AI coding agents to accelerate build and iteration, and optimise for performance, scalability, security, and cost using best engineering practices (CI/CD, containerisation, infrastructure-as-code, version control).
• Agentic AI Implementation: Build and orchestrate multi-agent AI workflows (e.g. using Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock Agents) to automate complex tasks. Apply retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques, integrate tools, and design intelligent agents to enhance process efficiency.
• Business Consulting & Requirements: Collaborate with business units to understand needs and translate them into AI use cases. Facilitate workshops, define success metrics (KPIs, ROI), and identify high-impact automation opportunities aligned with Allianz’s strategy.
• Project & Stakeholder Management: Lead or support project delivery, define scope and milestones, and manage cross-functional stakeholders. Communicate technical concepts clearly and ensure timely, high-quality outcomes.
• Change Management & Enablement: Drive adoption of AI tools through training, documentation, and change initiatives. Support teams through process changes and foster a culture of automation.
• Governance & Responsible AI: Ensure compliance with Allianz’s data privacy, security, and Responsible AI standards. Implement guardrails, audit logging, and human-in-the-loop testing where needed.
• Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Stay current with AI and automation trends. Evaluate new tools, run pilots, and contribute to reusable assets and best practices. Support pre-sales and proposals when required.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with a global team of engineers, data scientists, and consultants. Share knowledge, mentor junior colleagues, and promote agile, collaborative ways of working.
Key Requirements
• Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, with at least one year completed. A strong academic foundation is preferred; TUM or comparable technical universities are a plus.
• Experience: Some hands-on exposure to AI/ML, data analytics, or automation – through coursework, a university project, a hackathon, or a prior internship. We look for demonstrated curiosity and initiative more than a set number of years.
• Technical Skills: Solid Python fundamentals (scripts and modules, not just notebooks) and basic SQL; familiarity with Git. Curiosity to work with AI coding agents (e.g. Claude Code, OpenAI Codex) is welcome – we’ll show you how we use them day to day. Any exposure to LLM-based applications, prompting techniques, RAG, or frameworks like LangChain or LlamaIndex is a bonus, not expected.
• Cloud & Tools: Any exposure to cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) or their AI services (e.g. Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock) is a plus – we’ll teach you the rest. Basic awareness of containers, CI/CD, or infrastructure-as-code is nice to have but not required.
• Automation & Data: Interest in automation and data engineering concepts. Any exposure to RPA tools (e.g. UiPath, Power Automate), process mining, OCR, APIs, or data pipelines is a plus, not a requirement.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical mindset and a willingness to connect technical work to real business problems.
• Communication & Consulting: Clear communicator who can explain technical topics simply. Stakeholder-facing experience is a plus but not required – you’ll build it here.
• Project Skills: Able to manage your own time across a 15–20 hour week alongside your studies. Familiarity with Agile ways of working is a plus.
• Languages: Fluent in English (written and spoken). German (B1+ level) is a strong advantage for local collaboration.
• Mindset: Proactive, curious, and eager to learn. Passionate about AI and innovation, with a hands-on, solution-oriented approach.
• Bonus: Certifications in cloud, AI/ML, or Agile methodologies. Knowledge of insurance or financial services is a plus.
What We Offer
• Hybrid work model: A balance of in-person collaboration and remote work, including up to 25 days per year working from abroad (per policy).
• Competitive compensation and benefits: Base salary with annual bonus, company pension, employee share purchase programme, and a range of employee discounts.
• Flexible working and time off: Flexible hours, generous annual leave, and support for colleagues returning from career breaks.
• Health and wellbeing: Comprehensive healthcare coverage and wellbeing resources, plus generous parental leave benefits.
• Learning and growth: Opportunities for continuous learning via classroom, virtual, and self-paced programmes; access to professional certifications; mentoring and buddy programmes; and clear career paths.
• International mobility: Collaboration with colleagues across countries and potential international assignments within Allianz for strong performers.
• High-impact work: The chance to build and scale AI/GenAI solutions with modern tooling, in partnership with global, interdisciplinary teams.
• Modern workplace: An open, innovative office environment in Munich with state-of-the-art engineering enablement and a knowledge-sharing culture.
• Inclusive culture: Join a diverse, international team where innovation, collaboration, and empowerment are celebrated. (Specific benefits may vary by location; full details will be provided during the offer process.)
