About Allianz Holding Eins

Allianz Holding Eins is the regional holding for Central Europe, driving strategic development and innovation across Life & Health insurance in 11 dynamic markets: Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, Poland, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, and Ukraine. Based in Vienna, we shape regional strategy, product excellence, and long-term value creation for millions of customers across the CE region.

Job Purpose / Role

As a Life Actuary in our Central Europe team, you will operate at the intersection of actuarial expertise, business strategy, and regional decision-making. You will influence how Life & Health products are designed, priced, and steered across multiple markets, working closely with local actuarial and management teams. The role combines hands-on actuarial topics with strategic exposure at regional and Group level, offering a unique opportunity to broaden your actuarial career beyond a single operating entity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shape and support the regional Life & Health strategy (Protection, Health, Life Savings, Unit Linked) in close collaboration with local actuarial and business teams.
  • Support the regional product approval process, including pricing assumptions, profitability (NBM, VNB), customer value (LR, RiY), and alignment with underwriting and distribution standards.
  • Act as a sparring partner for local life actuaries on pricing, profitability, and portfolio steering topics.
  • Develop and implement regional standards for pricing, underwriting, and portfolio steering, leveraging Group frameworks and best practices from mature markets.
  • Monitor business performance using key KPIs (e.g. PVNBP, CSM, RoE), identify deviations, and support corrective measures.
  • Guide integration of IFRS 17 and relevant risk governance frameworks into product development and portfolio management.
  • Collaborate with Group functions and serve as a key contact for actuarial and product-related topics across operating entities.
  • Contribute to strategic and financial planning by providing actuarial insights, independent perspectives, and best-practice benchmarks across markets.
  • Gain exposure to multiple life insurance markets and product types, enabling fast learning and broad professional development.

Key Requirements

  • University degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or related fields.
  • Several years of professional experience in life insurance actuarial roles (pricing, valuation, reporting, or portfolio steering).
  • Strong knowledge of insurance KPIs (e.g. NBM, VNB, RoE) and solid understanding of profit drivers in life insurance.
  • Familiarity with IFRS 17 and risk or actuarial governance frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex topics into clear business insights.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills in an international environment.
  • Fluent English is required; additional CE languages are an advantage.

What We Offer

  • A high-impact regional actuarial role with direct exposure to senior management and Group functions.
  • The opportunity to work on diverse life insurance portfolios and products across multiple Central European markets.
  • A strong combination of technical actuarial work and strategic business involvement.
  • An international, highly professional, and collaborative working environment.
  • Excellent opportunities for personal and professional development within Allianz.
  • A modern workplace in Vienna with flexible working arrangements.
  • A competitive annual gross salary starting from EUR 90,000 (full-time), with attractive overpayment depending on experience and qualifications.
