Job Description:

We are looking for a Windows Specialist to monitor and manage our applications running on Windows hosts. The ideal candidate should be eager to understand our business workflows and the different interfaces within these applications. They will be responsible for identifying the root causes of complex errors and providing timely solutions. The candidate should possess excellent analytical skills, communication skills and have a technical background with a basic understanding of Azure cloud, Windows servers, and file transfer protocols.

You will

Incident Management:

  • Responding to and resolving application-related incidents in a timely manner.
  • Documenting incidents, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
  • Escalating unresolved issues to higher-level support or development teams if necessary.

 

User Support:

  • Providing technical assistance to end-users via various channels (e.g., email, phone, ticketing system).
  • Guiding users through problem-solving processes and providing training on application functionalities.

 

Monitoring and Maintenance:

  • Monitoring application performance and system health to identify and address potential issues proactively.
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks and configuration changes.

 

Change Management:

  • Participating in the deployment of new applications or updates, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Testing new releases and updates to ensure compatibility and functionality.

 

Documentation:

  • Creating and maintaining detailed documentation for application processes, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Updating knowledge base articles to assist users and support teams.

 

Collaboration:

  • Working closely with members within the team, vendor, infra team, and other stakeholders to understand application requirements and improvements.
  • Participating in project meetings and providing input on application-related issues.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Security and Compliance:

  • Ensuring that applications comply with Allianz's security policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Implementing and monitoring security measures to protect data integrity and confidentiality.

 

Performance Optimization:

  • Analysing application performance and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Implementing best practices for application optimization and efficiency.

 

Reporting:

  • Generating regular reports on application performance, incident trends, and user feedback.
  • Providing insights and recommendations based on data analysis.

 

Continuous Improvement:

  • Staying updated with the latest technology trends and best practices in application support.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing them to enhance support efficiency.

 

Technical Skills:

• Azure Cloud Services: Expertise in managing and deploying Windows environments within Azure, including virtual machines, App registrations, and Enterprise application

• File Transfer Protocols: Proficiency in secure file transfer protocols and tools such as SFTP, FTPS, and Azure Storage for efficient data exchange.

• Patch Management: Experience in implementing and managing patch management solutions for Applications and Windows systems

• Compliance and Security Standards: Knowledge of compliance frameworks and security standards relevant to Azure and Windows environments, such as GDPR, ISO 27001, and NIST.

• Active Directory and Azure AD: Basic understanding and hands on experience of on-premises Active Directory and Azure Active Directory.

• System Configuration and Deployment (optional): Experience in configuring, deploying, and managing Windows systems using Azure Automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like ARM templates or Terraform.

• Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Strong ability to diagnose, analyze, and resolve issues related to Azure and Windows Server environments efficiently.

• Network Protocols and Services: Basic understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and Azure networking services, including Virtual Networks and Network Security Groups.

• Security and Compliance: Knowledge of Azure security best practices, including Azure Security Center, Azure Policy, and compliance monitoring.

• PowerShell and Azure CLI: Proficiency in writing and executing PowerShell scripts and Azure CLI commands for automation and system management tasks.

• Backup and Recovery Solutions: Working knowledge of Azure Backup and recovery strategies for Windows systems within Azure environments.

• Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Ability to monitor system performance using Azure Monitor and implement optimization strategies to ensure efficient operation of Windows environments.

• Collaboration and Communication: Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and end-users, particularly in cloud-based environments.

• MS SQL Server Administration: Proficiency in managing and administering MS SQL Server and databases

 

• Dynatrace Monitoring and Analysis: Experience in configuring and utilizing Dynatrace for real-time monitoring and analysis of application performance, infrastructure health, and user experience within Windows and Azure environments.

 

• Problem Detection and Resolution: Proficiency in leveraging Dynatrace's AI-driven insights and automated root cause analysis to quickly detect, diagnose, and resolve performance issues and anomalies in complex systems.

 

Soft Skills:

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with different stakeholders.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Strong focus on customer satisfaction and ability to manage user expectations.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a team and collaborate with other departments.

 

Time Management:

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex problems and develop solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure issues are thoroughly investigated and resolved.

 

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Several years of experience in application support or a related field.

 

Additional Skills:

  • Project Management: Basic understanding of project management principles can be beneficial.
  • Documentation Skills: Ability to create and maintain detailed documentation for troubleshooting and knowledge sharing.
  • Having a basic understanding or exposure to AI tools would be a plus.
  • Familiarity with basic AI tools is considered an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge or experience with AI tools will be beneficial.
  • Exposure to AI tools, even at a basic level, is a value-add.A fundamental grasp of AI tools will be an added benefit.
