Data Scientist (m/f/d)

We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist (m/f/d) to join our Claims Department and help transform data into actionable insights that drive business performance. In this role, you will leverage advanced analytics, predictive modelling, and business intelligence tools to improve claims effectiveness, strengthen fraud detection capabilities, enhance partner performance management, and support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
• Build and maintain severity tracking models by peril (MTPL, MOD, Home sub-perils) across exposure years and development months
• Monitor loss ratio drivers and quantify the impact of claims steering measures on P&L
• Design and refine fraud clustering models by peril, channel, and pattern type
• Support fraud savings growth targets through analytical detection
• Analyse recovery potential and track recovery savings performance
• Build partner outcome scoring models (quality, pricing compliance, VoC, leakage)
• Develop monthly partner performance dashboards with consequence-triggering thresholds
• Detect and flag sales steering patterns through data analysis
• Translate claims signals into structured inputs for Pricing, Underwriting, Product, and Sales
• Ensure every KPI is traceable to P&L
• Maintain live dashboards connecting Claims performance to business outcomes
• Support the feedback loop between Claims and Technical (aligned cadence, inflation assumptions, partner trends)
• Automate manual reporting processes and build management dashboards
• Develop competitive benchmarking analyses (internal OE comparison + external market)
• Track and report on programme KPIs
Profile:
• Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, or related field
• 3–5 years of experience in data science, business intelligence, or analytical roles — ideally in insurance claims, pricing, or risk
• Proficiency in SQL/pSQL
• Experience with data visualization and dashboarding tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
• Knowledge of machine learning frameworks, particularly fraud detection, anomaly detection, and predictive modelling
• Strong communication skills — ability to present findings and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership
• Experience working cross-functionally (e.g., with Pricing, Underwriting, or Finance teams)
• Insurance or financial services experience strongly preferred
• Interest for AI and AI work environment (ChatGPT, Copilot...)
