About the Job

Join us at the ACDC (Allianz Cyber Defense Center), where we are revolutionizing cybersecurity on a global scale! We're a dynamic team of international experts, working around the clock from various locations worldwide to defend Allianz against ever-evolving cyber threats. Our mission is clear: Protect Allianz Assets, Employees and Customer Data from cyber threats while continually elevating our processes and expertise.

The AI Defense function provides real-time security monitoring and safeguarding of AI workloads, closing the current gap of traditional threat detection. This team will operate at the forefront of a new discipline: defending AI systems from adversarial misuse, anomalous behavior, and novel attack vectors targeting the AI landscape.

What you do

  • Analyze and investigate alerts generated by the AI Defence system's engines to identify malicious AI behaviors, adversarial prompt attacks, data exfiltration attempts, anomalous agent activities, and many more across Allianz's AI workloads. Upon confirmation of malicious AI behavior, execute containment actions to neutralize threats in real time while collaborating closely with the ACDC Incident Response teams to manage the full incident lifecycle.
  • Work hand-in-hand with Incident Response and Incident Management teams to ensure seamless escalation, coordination, and resolution of AI-related security incidents. Support root cause analysis and contribute to post-incident reviews to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Continuously enhance and extend the AI Defence capability by developing new detection rules, refining anomaly detection models, improving alert fidelity, and contributing to the evolution of the Intent Engine, Anomaly Engine, and Prompt Protection mechanisms.
  • Stay at the forefront of AI security research, monitoring emerging threats to AI/ML systems (e.g., prompt injection, model poisoning, agent manipulation, data leakage) and translating findings into actionable detection strategies and defensive measures.
  • Thrive in a highly collaborative team environment where you will work alongside engineers, threat hunters, and incident responders and others dedicated to the shared mission of defending Allianz against emerging threats.
  • This is a unique opportunity to shape a brand-new capability within one of the world's largest financial services organizations. You will be at the forefront of AI security, defining processes, playbooks, and detection strategies from the ground up.
  • Play a crucial role in safeguarding Allianz's AI workloads across the global environment. Your work will directly protect the integrity and trustworthiness of AI systems serving millions of customers. Embrace a commitment to continuous learning in both cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.

What you bring

  • A university degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field is essential, with at least 3–5 years of relevant work experience in cybersecurity operations (SOC, incident response, or threat detection), with demonstrated exposure to or interest in AI/ML security. Experience working with AI systems, LLMs, or agentic AI frameworks is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrate strong technical skills across security operations (alert triage, incident response, containment) and a solid understanding of AI/ML architectures, including LLMs, agentic AI frameworks, prompt engineering, and AI observability tooling (e.g., OpenTelemetry).
  • Strong understanding of how AI systems work — including model architectures, inference pipelines, agent frameworks, tool-calling mechanisms, and common AI attack vectors (prompt injection, jailbreaking, model manipulation, data poisoning).
  • Ability to analyse telemetry data from AI systems to identify anomalous patterns, malicious intent, and security-relevant events. Experience with SIEM platforms, log analysis, and anomaly detection methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Python and familiarity with AI/ML libraries and frameworks. Ability to develop and maintain detection scripts, automation workflows, and tooling to support AI defence operations and proven experience or strong understanding of incident response processes, containment strategies, and coordination with cross-functional teams during security events.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with both technical colleagues and non-technical stakeholders, including AI development teams, governance functions, and executive leadership. Be fluent in English, both spoken and written, capable of addressing stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and levels of technical expertise.
  • High degree of analytical thinking, curiosity, and innovative problem-solving skills with the ambition to pioneer a new discipline within cybersecurity.
  • Machine learning knowledge is a strong advantage.

What we offer

  • We offer a hybrid work model which recognizes the value of striking a balance between in-person collaboration and remote working incl. up to 25 days per year working from abroad.
  • We believe in rewarding performance and our compensation and benefits package includes a company bonus scheme, pension, employee shares program and multiple employee discounts (details vary by location).
  • From career development and digital learning programs to international career mobility, we offer lifelong learning for our employees worldwide and an environment where innovation, delivery and empowerment are fostered.
  • Flexible working, health and wellbeing offers (including healthcare and parental leave benefits) support to balance family and career and help our people return from career breaks with experience that nothing else can teach.
