As a Database Developer, you are part of an agile team responsible for the database product “FIV” (Führungs- und Informationssystem Vertrieb – Sales Management and Information System). FIV is the central sales steering and information system for around 14,000 users in sales and controlling functions at Allianz in Germany, providing data across various platforms. It comprises 25 TB of data across five production databases.
The agile Product Team is part of the Sales Steering Tribe, which is based within Allianz Kunde und Markt GmbH. The Sales Steering Chapter – i.e., your “disciplinary home” – belongs to Allianz Technology.
What You Do:
- Processing Jira tickets for data model extensions, database-related programming, ETL process adjustments (tool: biGenius), versioning in GitHub, specifications for automation, module testing
- Performing general system integration tests (providing test data, monitoring job chains)
- Creating new interfaces and maintaining existing ones
- Supporting, contributing to, and testing upgrades and migrations of interfaces and their databases
- Supporting/maintaining data delivery processes to downstream systems
- Processing incidents and creating changes, e.g., for releases
- Regular
taking on early shifts and shift duties (early and late) at month-end
What You Bring:
- Degree in computer science / natural sciences / engineering, or comparable training
- Very good knowledge of PL/SQL (at least experienced level)
- Very good database knowledge of Oracle
- Confident use of build pipeline tools (GitHub, Jenkins)
- Experience operating data warehouse systems
- Very good English skills, level B1
- Willingness to work early and late shifts
- Experience working in agile environments
- Analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skills
- Independent, team-oriented way of working
- Strong communication skills and a high level of customer orientation
- Strong sense of quality and responsibility
Desirable:
- Several years of professional experience
- Knowledge of the programming languages Lua and Python
- Knowledge of the Exasol database
- Confident handling of automation processes
- Knowledge of an ETL tool
- Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure and AWS-based components for data (e.g., Glue), IaaS, and containers.
- Experience with PyCharm, Visual Studio Code
- Experience with Confluence, Jira
- German language skills
