About the role

 

The Product and Portfolio Specialist reports to the Senior Manager, Underwriting and Member services, and is responsible for the support and delivery of product and underwriting initiatives for Club Marine to achieve its product strategies.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Monitor and analyse Club Marine product portfolio performance, leveraging insights to align products with CML strategy and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Maintain and update Underwriting Guidelines, managing change to practices and communications to ensure staff are informed and compliant.
  • Deliver change requests to CML IT Services relevant to Underwriting and Member Services, ensuring timely and accurate implementation.
  • Conduct market research and product reviews, preparing business cases for product variations and maintaining the endorsement register.
  • Manage Public Document Due Diligence (PDDD) submissions and reviews, ensuring compliance with regulatory and governance requirements.
  • Liaise with the AAL Product Manager, Technical Governance and Legal teams to ensure alignment on product, compliance and operational matters.
  • Support cross-functional collaboration to drive product innovation and ensure pleasure craft offerings remain competitive, compliant and customer-centric.

 

 

About you

 

  • Demonstrated experience in product or portfolio analytics, development and management within general insurance or brokerage.
  • Solid analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex information, extract meaningful insights and evaluate options to support sound decision-making.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with a deep understanding of market dynamics, competitive landscape, risk and opportunity within the insurance industry.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, intermediaries and service providers.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to plan, prioritise and manage competing demands effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information with clarity, impact and influence across all levels of the organisation.
