The primary purpose of this role is to lead and manage the Motor Fleet underwriting team to provide professional underwriting standards to internal and external customers, develop and implement required underwriting action plans to deliver quality service and financial targets to Plan, whilst always ensuring adherence to company risk, underwriting and compliance standards.
About the role
- Lead, coach, and manage a high-performing Motor Fleet Underwriting team to achieve business and service objectives.
- Deliver financial targets (GWP, profit) through effective underwriting strategy and performance management.
- Collaborate with Distribution teams to drive customer-centric service, improve conversion, and increase retention rates.
- Oversee underwriting operations, workflows, and reporting to ensure service standards, productivity, and NPS targets are met.
- Drive continuous improvement by enhancing processes, systems, risk management practices, and compliance outcomes.
About you
- Tertiary qualifications and relevant industry accreditations, supported by strong underwriting experience in general insurance.
- Management experience preferred or alternatively experience as a 2IC or similar
- Motor fleet experience is highly desirable
- Solid understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements impacting underwriting operations.
- Strong customer focus with the ability to deliver high-quality service and enhance customer value and experience.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills to interpret complex data and support effective decision-making.
