We are looking for a Claims Team Leader - Liability (m/f/d), based in Alpharetta, GA or Chicago, IL.
The Impact You Will Have
The Claims Team Leader – Liabilty will primarily:

Lead and manage claims team and act as the technical referral point for other Claims Handlers

Handle a claims, in both lead and following capacity
-
Ensure claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AGCS Claims Standards procedures and guidelines.

Utilize third party service providers to achieve economical results and to provide a high quality service to all internal and external customers

Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

Leadership

Lead and manage Claims team

Training, developing and coaching of less experienced staff

Manage technical referrals as appropriate

Delegate work as appropriate

Investigation and Reserving of Claims
-

Investigate claims, including coverage determination and evaluation of loss exposures.

Determine appropriate reserving levels.
-

Select and direct independent external service providers (e.g. Loss Adjusters)

Proactively discuss and review contentious, large and complex claims with fellow management and internal stakeholders to obtain opinions/feedback.

Claims Processing and Administration
-
-
Input and maintain accurate claims records for designated accounts, within appropriate AzC Claims administration systems.

Proactively review late/nonpayment of premium and support credit control process with Underwriting / Accounts

Manage timely production of management information reports (e.g. monthly major claims movements) and proactively identify loss trends.

Settlement
-

Settle HiLo claims through payment or denial
-

Ensure unpursued claims are settled in accordance with settlement guidelines
-

Referrals and Compliance
-

Ensure all claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AzC Claims Standard procedures and guidelines.

Support establishment of claims management procedures specific to salvage guidelines on new business accounts in association with clients, brokers and loss adjusters.

Undertake audits of external service providers as appropriate.

Market Management & Relationship Management

Proactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and broker negotiations where necessary.

Proactively liaise with MMC on market management initiatives; positively represent AzC externally to the market; proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Claims handling process, e.g., Underwriting, MMC, ARC, Operations; and develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and clients and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. third party adjusters).

What You’ll Bring to the Role

5 to 7 years of experience of managing and developing teams
-
Claim Handling: Solid knowledge of claim handling process from notification to settlement and recovery.
-
7 to 10 years of specialized understanding of LoB products and portfolio with technical specialist knowledge.
-
7 to 10 years of specialized understanding of regional/local LoB insurance markets and competitor landscape
-
7 to 10 years of recognized relationship building with brokers at peer group level and well established within local market.

Minimum of years of good understanding of legal and regulatory framework.
-
A willingness to learn and explore how AI can enhance your role and the broader organization is expected

Products and Coverages: understanding in relevant products, wordings, terms and conditions and coverages.

Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Completion of professional insurance qualification
-
Experience in working in global complex, matrix organization leading a team of professionals.

General understanding of contracts and their applicability.
-
Communication skills: Clearly and effectively express ideas and messages via speech or writing.

Negotiation and conflict management: Ability to negotiate best position for Allianz Commercial, and client, often in contentious situations, managing conflicting priorities of various parties.

Analytical Skills: Ability to effectively absorb information from various sources, then analyze, study or examine data in detail, and draw appropriate conclusions.
The annualized base pay range for this role is $104,361 - $162,417. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
