Complex Claims Analyst - Financial Lines - EPL

We are looking for a Complex Claims Analyst – Financial Lines - EPL.  This role can be based in the Alpharetta, GA or Chicago, IL, offices.  We are also open to qualified remote candidates, who are not within a reasonable commuting distance of an Allianz Commercial North America office.

The Impact You Will Have

The Complex Claims Analyst, will proactively investigate, evaluate, and negotiate resolution of assigned primary and excess EPL claims, in accordance with established best practices and assure claims are handled within granted autonomy limits.  The Complex Claims Analyst will also develop and maintain relationships with customers and brokers as well as internal business partners.

Some of your specific responsibilities will include:                                         

• Investigation  of Claims - Investigate claims that involve complex liability issues on primary and excess EPL claims, requiring qualified legal analysis.
• Evaluating and Reserving of Claims -  evaluating liability and analyzing damages; determining  appropriate reserving levels; and selecting and directing independent external service providers (e.g. Lawyers, Independent Adjusters, Experts).
• Analyzing Coverage – analyzing coverage to determine if there are coverage issues; communicating coverage positions to insureds and brokers.
• Settlement - Negotiating and resolving complex EPL claims ensuring cost effective, service orientated solutions.
• Ensuring claims are settled in accordance with settlement guidelines.
• Referrals and Compliance - Ensuring all claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AzC Claims complex procedures and claims handling guidelines.
• Referring cases outside of authority level, preparing referral documentation and materials as appropriate; and
• Supporting the establishment of claims management procedures on new business accounts in association with clients, brokers and loss adjusters.
• Market Management - Proactively supporting acquisition of new business and retention of existing business.
• Proactively liaising with underwriters on market management initiatives and attending industry functions.
• Relationship Management - Positively representing AzC externally to the market and developing and maintaining relationships with brokers and clients, as well as other relevant stakeholders (e.g. third party adjusters);
• Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Claims handling process, e.g. Underwriting, Operations.
• Effectively reporting and presenting complex and contentious loss and claims information internally and externally.
• Claims Processing & Administration - Inputting and maintaining accurate claims records for designated accounts, within appropriate AzC Claims administration systems.
• Manage timely production of management information reports (e.g. monthly major claims movements) and proactively identify loss trends.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

• 5 - 7 years’ experience in proven track record in handling EPL claims involving complex coverage, liability  and damage issues       
• Product and Coverages: Detailed understanding of Financial Lines claims products, EPL  policy wordings, terms and conditions and coverages.
• Demonstrate established relationships with brokers at peer group level and well established within local market                                         
• Have an expert understanding of Liability products and portfolio, with expert understanding of coverage and application in the adjustment process.
• In-depth understanding of regional / local Liability insurance markets and competitor landscape
• Detailed understanding of legal and regulatory framework
• Experience in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve business processes and decision-making is highly beneficial.
• Experience working in a complex, global matrix organization 
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline

The annualized base pay range for this role is $112,818 - $170,509. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package.  As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
