Directly responsible and accountable for the marketing and underwriting of the Surety portfolio for the Allianz Trade North America Surety Team. The National Accounts Surety Manager is responsible for establishing strong broker relationships, building and managing a book of large account surety accounts, effectively marketing Surety’s capabilities, and underwriting profitable business in the region.

 

Key Responsibilities and Duties

 

  • Developing and executing a strategic business plan in order to expand AZ Trade’s America’s Surety business in the Region.
  • Developing and underwriting a profitable portfolio of Surety business through active engagement in the Surety marketplace with existing and new broker relationships.
  • Documenting of all decisions and recommendations in a consistent and transparent manner.
  • Establishing and maintaining key relationships while building out a nationally-focused book
  • Conducting  account and portfolio underwriting activities in a manner consistent with underwriting guidelines and portfolio management requirements established by AZ Trade.
  • Collaborating with Allianz colleagues across the Americas and internationally in order to fully leverage Allianz surety capabilities and existing customer base.
  • Coordinating with Allianz Surety teams globally to ensure alignment on risk and underwriting issues.
  • Actively participating in industry groups, and local surety events.

 

 

Required Qualifications and Skills

 

  • College degree with emphasis in business, economics, or finance
  • 7+ years industry experience, predominately as an underwriter. Proven ability to underwrite and grow a Surety portfolio.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in contract surety and strong knowledge of the U.S. surety market.
  • Entrepreneurial skill set to establish and achieve goals and objectives.
  • Established track record developing strong relationships and business with brokers.
  • Proven ability to underwrite and grow a Surety portfolio focused on Large U.S And Multinational Contractors
  • Experience in the development and management of marketing plans, business plans and budgets.
  • Knowledge of Surety distribution channels and experience in managing relationships with national and regional brokers.
  • Recognized expertise in the underwriting of contract surety accounts and risks.
  • Ability to work in fast paced, service driven environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Sound management and interpersonal skills in order to effectively work in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Strong communication skills in order to establish a market presence
  • Ability to work independently with limited oversight.
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Looking for candidates that possess a basic awareness of Artificial Intelligence technologies and are enthusiastic about learning and integrating AI into everyday business processes.

 

Total compensation range:

$155,000 - $180,000

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary ranges are only one component of our total compensation package.
