Reporting Line: Chief Commercial Officer (matrix to Head of Region for FI vertical)

 

The Channel Development Manager for Banks & Financial Institutions (FIs) drives strategic growth of Allianz Trade’s indirect distribution ecosystem across the Americas. This role focuses on building, managing, and expanding partnerships with brokers, banks, lenders, fintech, and other financial intermediaries to accelerate adoption of trade credit insurance and related riskmanagement solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities and Duties

 

Channel Strategy & Growth

  • Develop and execute a multi‑year channel strategy for banks, FIs, and lending partners
  • Identify new partnership opportunities that align with Allianz Trade’s commercial priorities and regional growth targets.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to refine channel strategy.
  • Successfully lead the Financial Institutions vertical

Business Acquisition & Relationship Management

  • Source, negotiate, and onboard new bank and FI clients.
  • Serve as the primary relationship owner for strategic partners, ensuring strong engagement and performance.
  • Collaborate with partners to design joint value propositions, training programs, and go‑to‑market initiatives.
  • Monitor partner performance, pipeline activity, and revenue contribution; implement improvement plans where needed.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless partner integration and support.
  • Coordinate with underwriting risk teams to align partner‑driven opportunities with portfolio strategy.
  • Partner with Marketing to develop co‑marketing campaigns, partner toolkits, and educational content.

Business Development & Enablement

  • Educate bank and FI partners on trade credit insurance, risk mitigation tools, and Allianz Trade’s product suite.
  • Support partner sales teams with training, joint client meetings, and deal structuring guidance.
  • Represent Allianz Trade at industry events, conferences, and partner forums.

Performance Management & Reporting

  • Track KPIs including partner activation, revenue growth, pipeline development, and channel profitability.
  • Prepare regular performance reports and strategic updates for regional leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance, legal requirements, and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications and Skills

 

  • The ideal candidate blends commercial acumen, relationshipbuilding strength, and a deep understanding of financialsector dynamics. This is a highly visible, growthoriented role that shapes how Allianz Trade collaborates with key financial players across the region.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field; an MBA or other advanced degree is strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in financial services, B2B partnerships, channel development, or commercial roles.
  • Strong understanding of banking, lending, trade finance, or credit related products.
  • Proven ability to build and manage strategic partnerships.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Total compensation range:

 

$250,000 - $300,000

 

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience, skills for the role and location. Salary ranges are only one component of our total compensation package.
