About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Commercial Engineering Underwriting Manager to grow and manage our Engineering insurance portfolio. In this role, you will combine technical underwriting expertise with business development, working closely with brokers, clients, reinsurers, and internal teams.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys evaluating complex engineering risks, developing profitable portfolios, and building strong market relationships.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Drive premium growth by identifying and developing commercial engineering business opportunities
- Underwrite Engineering insurance risks in line with company policies and risk appetite
- Review construction, infrastructure, and industrial projects to assess technical and commercial risks
- Analyse terms & conditions, pricing, reinsurance arrangements, and loss experience for new and renewal business
- Work with reinsurers to secure facultative support when required
- Prepare and review policy wording, endorsements, and reinsurance closings before policy issuance
- Collaborate with brokers, clients, and internal teams to ensure smooth and timely service delivery
- Support process improvements to enhance efficiency and underwriting quality
- Coach and support team members to promote collaboration, performance, and positive morale
- Continuously develop your technical, market, and industry knowledge
What We’re Looking For
Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields
- Minimum 5 years of experience in non-motor underwriting, especially Engineering lines
- Strong underwriting knowledge of construction and engineering insurance products
- Proven experience in portfolio development and broker/client relationship management
- Solid understanding of general insurance products and distribution channels
- Ability to assess complex engineering, infrastructure, and industrial risks
Nice to Have
- Strong analytical and portfolio review skills
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with data tools is an advantage
- Proactive, well-organized, and detail-oriented
- Strong communication and coordination skills in Thai and English
- Exposure to AI or digital tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Copilot 365) is a plus
