As a Specialist - Commercial Risk Consultant, you will work closely with underwriters, brokers, and corporate clients to provide professional risk engineering advice that supports sound underwriting decisions and improves our customers' risk resilience.
This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy combining technical expertise, site-based assessment, and client interaction to create meaningful business impact.
What You Will Do:
Risk Assessment & Risk Engineering
- Conduct on-site and desktop risk assessments for commercial and industrial clients.
- Evaluate property risks, operational exposures, fire protection systems, and business interruption impacts.
- Analyse risk quality and identify key loss drivers that may affect underwriting decisions.
- Prepare clear, practical, and timely risk survey reports and recommendations.
Partnership with Underwriting & Sales Teams
- Collaborate closely with Underwriters and Commercial Sales teams to support risk selection and portfolio quality.
- Provide technical insights that help balance customer needs with sustainable underwriting outcomes.
- Participate in customer meetings to explain risk findings and improvement opportunities.
Risk Improvement Advisory
- Recommend risk mitigation measures that enhance clients' operational resilience and reduce potential losses.
- Support customers in improving fire protection, loss prevention, and safety management practices.
- Follow up on risk improvement actions and monitor implementation progress when required.
Knowledge Sharing & Continuous Improvement
- Support internal training and technical knowledge sharing across Allianz teams.
- Stay updated on industry trends, engineering standards, fire protection technologies, and risk engineering best practices.
- Contribute to continuous enhancement of risk assessment methodologies and service standards.
What We're Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (Civil, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical, Safety Engineering or similar).
- 3-5 years of experience in Risk Engineering, Loss Prevention, Industrial Safety, Property Risk Assessment, Manufacturing Operations, Engineering Inspection, or Insurance Risk Management.
- Fresh graduates with strong academic backgrounds and internship experience are welcome to apply.
Technical Capabilities:
- Basic understanding of industrial operations and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of fire protection systems, safety management, and loss prevention principles.
- Ability to assess risks, analyse findings, and develop practical recommendations.
- Strong report writing and analytical skills.
- Understanding of Property Insurance and Risk Engineering principles is an advantage.
- Familiarity with FM Global, NFPA, local regulations, or international risk engineering standards is a plus.
Professional Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Confidence in communicating with stakeholders at different organizational levels.
- Ability to present technical information in a clear and practical manner.
- Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Any AI-future skills e.g., ChatGPT, or CoPilot365, will be advantage.
