Sr. Assoc. Director - P&C Non - Motor Product and Business, Underwriting, Reinsurance and Governance

Lead P&C non-motor product development through end-to-end processes across all distribution channels, while overseeing underwriting governance, product governance, and regulatory filings. Serve in a leadership capacity by supervising the team, providing guidance, and ensuring high-quality and accurate deliverables aligned with business objectives. The role is also responsible for portfolio management, reinsurance, and Nat Cat management to ensure sustainable profitability, risk optimization, and compliance with company and Group standards, as well as market competitiveness. Additionally, review and validate the team’s work, ensure timely business delivery, and provide approvals as required.

Your Day at Allianz Ayudhya

1. Product & Technical Underwriting

• Define underwriting strategy, guidelines, and risk selection criteria to ensure profitable and sustainable growth
• Lead product development, pricing direction, and market competitiveness analysis
• Oversee portfolio performance (pricing adequacy, claims trends, profitability) and drive corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and underwriting standards

2. Reinsurance & NatCat Management

• Lead reinsurance strategy, including renewal, structuring, and stakeholder management with Allianz Re, brokers, and reinsurers
• Oversee portfolio exposure monitoring, Nat Cat risk assessment, and catastrophe modelling to support risk appetite and pricing adequacy
• Ensure high-quality data submission (exposure, loss, premium) for reinsurance programs and regulatory reporting
• Drive portfolio optimization through reinsurance solutions and capital efficiency initiatives

3. Underwriting Governance & Portfolio Analytics

• Establish and oversee underwriting governance framework, including authority limits, guidelines, and quality assurance processes
• Lead underwriting quality reviews, performance monitoring, and reporting to senior management and committees
• Drive data analytics and portfolio insights to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
• Lead continuous improvement, change management initiatives, and alignment with group governance standards

4. Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Leading and supervising team to ensure underwriting performance, portfolio risks, and strategic direction
• Collaborate cross-functionally (UW, Claims, Actuarial, Finance, IT, Legal) to align business objectives
• Serve as key point of contact for external stakeholders including reinsurers, brokers, and group functions
• Develop team capabilities and foster a high-performance, data-driven culture

Must Have

• Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Insurance, Statistics or related field
• At least 10 years of experience in non-life insurance, with focus on non-motor products
• Strong in product development, underwriting, portfolio management, and reinsurance
• Strong knowledge of underwriting, governance and risk control

Nice to Have

• Experience in data analytics or Management Information Systems (MIS) is essential
• Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Good command of English communication
• Any AI-future skills e.g., ChatGPT, or CoPilot365, will be advantage.
