We are looking for an Accounting Associate, who will be based in O’Fallon office. This will be a hybrid role.

The Impact You Will Have
This role supports the accounting activities for the close and consolidation of North American entities' financial statements for the Allianz Commercial business unit. Responsibilities include preparing IFRS and Statutory financial statements, including audited financial statements for insurance & non-insurance affiliates, ensuring compliance with accounting policies, monitoring company processes, and completing assigned project work. This role will be a vital member of the Financial Reporting team, ensuring efficient financial reporting and consolidation processes.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

Prepare monthly financial statements on an IFRS basis, including completion of ECCS submissions to AGCS

Prepare quarterly and annual statutory financial statements (Yellow books) for the insurance companies and completes reconciliations between IFRS and statutory reporting

Draft Footnote disclosures and management discussions and analysis for regulatory reporting

Prepare consolidated audited financial statements and coordinates audit requests within Finance, Underwriting and Claims

Monitor changes to IFRS reporting requirements and ensure compliance with accounting policy

Participate in daily close meetings and assists in monitoring timeliness of close processes and identifying items for discussion or resolution

Identify and execute on process improvements to minimize manual efforts and focus on automation or semi-automation of processes

Manage to the data quality standards within the team to meet regulatory requirements and internal reporting needs

Assist internal clients (e.g. other departments) with reports, research and other activities.

Key contact for other functions regarding accounting results, processes, and internal controls

Correspond and answer inquiries with third-party entities, including auditors, business units, tax authorities, public authorities, and others
What You’ll Bring to the Role

1-3 years experience in Financial Statement preparation
-
1-3 years experience working for an international organization
-
1-3 years experience in relevant insurance accounting experience, including knowledge of US statutory Knowledge of IFRS/GAAP/Statutory Accounting, with an emphasis on financial reporting

Experience with SAP/BW/Cognos and proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Access & database tools

Knowledge of insurance accounting principles, especially for property and casualty companies

Data Quality and Reporting: Ensuring compliance of closing, reporting with internal & external requirements and GAAP accounting principles

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance preferred

Experience in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve business processes and decision-making is preferred
The annualized base pay range for this role is $58400 - $100038. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
