The Impact You Will Have
The Accounting Manager – Reinsurance will be responsible for providing support to the Controller and the various Accounting areas. This can include, but is not limited to, coordinating the regional close, tracking issues and following up on them, researching and problem solving in each of the areas as necessary. The will be a hybrid role based in Chicago or O’Fallon.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
- Develop and publish analytics and metrics for the regions numbers. This includes creating and publishing a monthly and quarterly reporting package that includes analytics and metrics over the income statement and balance sheet.
- Ensure there are adequate plans for the implementation of Global Genius and to make sure plans and requirements are consistent where applicable across LoBs (Lines of Business).
- Track account reconciliations on a quarterly basis and provide a 'grade' on them.
- Assist with the coordination and monitoring of the monthly and quarterly closes.
- Research technical accounting issues as necessary and problem solve issues in the various areas.
- Ability to multi-task and reprioritize as the needs of the business changes.
What You’ll Bring to the Role
- 5-7 years experience in knowledge of the P&C industry and insurance accounting principles.
- 5-7 years experience in knowledge and understanding of standard accounting (GAAP) and P&C (Statutory) insurance and reinsurance practice and principles.
- Strong organizational, analytical and multi-tasking skills necessary to manage multiple deadlines and changing priorities in a faced paced environment.
- Overtime is expected, especially during the quarter close time periods.
- Ability to collaborate with others, adapt to change and accept challenging assignments.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Intermediate to Advance Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Financial reporting experience (internal or external) is required; statutory reporting is a plus.
- Experience with SAP is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience running a process or project management is required.
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- CPA or equivalent years of experience required.
- Experience in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve business processes and decision-making is highly beneficial.
The annualized base pay range for this role is $105,548 - $159,443. The annual base salary range represents nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
