The Impact You Will Have
Reporting to Head of CAT Risk Analytics and Services, the CAT Risk Analyst will be responsible for identifying and quantifying major accumulation risks to assist in establishing appropriate risk mitigation and control mechanisms to ensure the financial solvency of Allianz Commercial. The Analyst role requires application of solid catastrophe modelling techniques, principles and understanding to meet team objectives. The Analyst will have responsibility for small to medium size projects and will be responsible for specific outcomes relating to definition, execution and delivery phases of the project.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

Running catastrophe loss modelling software (natural perils and terrorism) and prepare data extracts and reports for the monitoring of Allianz Commercial global loss potential, including portfolio analyses, CAT limit monitoring (Allianz Group and Allianz Commercial internal limits), supporting global business steering and providing input to ensure adequate reinsurance protection.

Defining scope, agreeing on timeframes and executing deliverables with internal and external clients.

Providing on the spot consultancy and translating/explaining CAT Modeling results and reports to users in CxO.

Collaborating with CUO LOBs and other relevant functions (Actuarial, Risk Management, Reinsurance, CAT Capacity Steering Desk - CCSD, ARC, Claims, etc.) to support business steering and portfolio management, Solvency II requirements, Reinsurance renewals and Data Quality improvements.

Driving innovation and change through managing the evaluation process relating to modelling upgrades, GIS applications and other vendor catastrophe loss modelling software, including technical and portfolio impact analyses and completing documentations.
What You’ll Bring to the Role

Professional insurance and/or reinsurance experience;

Understanding of underwriting practice for industrial risks and corporate business on a global basis;

Practical experience and familiarity with multiple vendor tools;

Catastrophe Modeling and Catastrophe Modeling Software experience (RMS, AIR, EQECAT) and GIS (Geographical Information Systems) applications;

Experience with SQL and Python;

Project management experience;

Excellent verbal and written communications skills with an ability to communicate with a variety of people across the organization;

Ability to deliver results and drive innovation and change;

Ability to utilize AI tools to support day-to-day tasks, improve efficiency and contribute to data-driven decision making; and

Degree preferably in Geosciences, Engineering or Mathematics, or other quantitative discipline.

The annualized base pay range for this role is $70,000 to $90,000. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
