The Impact You Will Have
Reporting to the Head of Insurance Closing & Reporting- North America, you will be primarily responsible for the accounting transactions and reporting requirements for the Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) line of business and Arch.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

Review transactional bookings on a regular (quarterly) basis to ensure accurate P&L impacts

Governance and quality assurance

Document application of policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility

Ensure all IFRS, GAAP and Statutory closing and reporting tasks (e.g. annual report, reporting to regulatory authorities, NAIC reporting, other internal/external reporting requirements) related to own area of responsibility are accurate and timely on a global basis

Complete assigned postings, journal entries and account reconciliations on a periodic basis. Reconcile intercompany transactions within the affiliated company group

Coordination, transfer and reconciliation of data from interfaces of front-end systems

Take care of monthly legal entity close submission activities, including posting of accruals, deferred acquisition expenses and other accounting transactions

Global P&L analysis and reviews

Assist internal clients (e.g. other departments) with reports, research and other activities

Manage relationship with 3rd parties (auditors, business units, tax authorities, public authorities, etc.)

Identify problems and opportunities for improvements; propose creative solutions that improve qualitative and quantitative performance
What You’ll Bring to the Role
-
5-7 years of professional experience in P&C insurance/reinsurance

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business

CPA preferred, but not required

Proven understanding of standard accounting (GAAP, Statutory & IFRS) for insurance and reinsurance

Project and team work in an international and dynamic environment

Understanding insurance financial statements and their performance measurement including drivers

Comprehensive knowledge of Statutory accounting, IAS / IFRS, Regulatory, Tax and other relevant requirements (such as Allianz Accounting policies), compliance and declaration

Ability to handle complex processes (closing, reporting, finance operations) including understanding of data flows

Ability to manage projects (milestone and task planning, managing resources, controlling, monitoring, reporting, moderating) and to develop solutions while considering complex stakeholder structures and requirements

Strong analytical skills and ability to stay focused in a deadline driven environment with minimal supervision

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products (primarily Excel and PowerPoint)

Strong ability to understand, elaborate and convey information clearly and effectively to any audience/level of management (both verbally and in writing)

Reliability & conscientiousness, assertive, yet cooperative team player are softer skills needed in this rol
- A basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential applications in business is essential
The annualized base pay range for this role is $75,409 - $128,400. The annual base salary range represents a Chicago market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
