Compliance Officer (12-month Contract)

As part of the Hong Kong Compliance team, the Compliance Officer, based in Hong Kong, will play a key role to implementing the Asia Pacific Compliance program.
What you do
- Ensure regulatory compliance, e.g., perform regulatory filing, submit licensing application
- Provide regulatory compliance advice to business on a BAU basis
- Manage regulatory change by keeping track of new regulatory development, analyse business impact and assist in implementation
- Perform Code of Ethics administration and manage employee requests relating to personal account dealing, gift & entertainment, outside business activities etc.
- Review marketing materials for retail and institutional businesses
- Conduct routine compliance monitoring and testing
- Provide compliance training to employees
- Assist in cross-border marketing, global/regional compliance and technology/AI projects/tasks as needed
What you bring
- 5-8 years of asset management compliance experience or working experience with regulatory authorities
- Working experience in the asset management industry. Knowledge in traditional fund business preferred
- Knowledge of SFC regulatory requirements (primarily SFC Type 1, 4, 9)
- High degree of motivation and attention to details
- Strong sense of ownership and responsibility
- Strong interpersonal, analytical and communication skills
- Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese
- Excellent computing knowledge in MS applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, data/reporting tool (e.g., PowerBI) and AI productivity tool (e.g., Copilot)
Preferred:
- Conversational level of Putonghua
- CPA / CFA / FRM / LLB designation
- AI/technology skills such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Microsoft Power Platform, data analytics
- Experience in automation and process optimization within compliance operations is highly beneficial
