As AllianzGI continues to develop and grow its Infrastructure Debt investment management business, there is an opportunity to join the Infrastructure Debt team. The new joiner will support the team’s efforts in originating, analysing and executing investment opportunities and the ongoing management of the existing portfolio.

 

You will work with the team in Munich, but also with the teams in London, Paris, and New York, in a collaborative and exciting high-performance environment. The team is bidding and investing in transactions across different countries so you will have immediate access to deal analysis, structuring and negotiations.

 

With more than €28 billion invested in over 160 transactions, AllianzGI is the largest Infrastructure Debt asset manager in Europe. Investments are made in core assets (social infrastructure, transportation assets, regulated utilities and renewable energy), core+ assets (e.g. telecom assets, district heating, smart meters, car parks, equipment, storage) and high yield infrastructure. The team is investing in greenfield and brownfield assets and is also involved in the refinancing of operational assets.

 

You will be an experienced and motivated individual who will exhibit the highest levels of competency, integrity and teamwork in undertaking this role.

 

 

What you will do

 

Execute investments:

  • Support the initial screening of opportunities including presentation to the Infrastructure Debt Investment Committee and preparation of materials to present the opportunities to current and potential investors
  • As part of a deal team, undertake detailed transaction due diligence, including the review and analysis of financial, legal, commercial and technical reports. Undertake risk and ESG assessment and internal rating of the transactions
  • Conduct financial modelling of the investment opportunities
  • As part of a deal team, negotiate the term sheet
  • Conduct KYCs, CP checks and prepare closing documents and other operational closing mechanics

 

Portfolio management:

  • Ensure a smooth transition of closed transactions to the asset management team
  • Assess jointly with the asset management team complex waiver and amendment requests

 

Fund raising and client management:

  • Help prepare marketing materials and attend prospective investor meetings
  • Participate in portfolio review meetings with existing clients (i.e. investors)

 

Credit and infrastructure market knowledge:

  • Keep informed of key developments in the infrastructure and credit markets and ensure dissemination of information to the wider team
  • Update weekly the transaction pipeline
  • Attend seminars and other training to supplement knowledge as required
  • Attend and/or present at infrastructure conferences.
  • Close working relationship with team members in Munich, London, Paris, and New York
  • Collaborate with a broad variety of administrative, mid and back-office personnel involved with the implementation of the investments
  • Regular meetings with investors, project sponsors, infrastructure equity funds, construction companies and financial advisers

 

What you bring

 

  • Up to 3 years’ work experience in infrastructure, project finance or structured finance including in English
  • Degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics or Business Management with a Corporate Finance or similar focus preferred
  • Fluency in English
  • European language(s) such as German, French, Italian or Spanish would be a significant plus
  • Structured/project finance experience in the European market across regulated and contracted utilities, PPP, renewables and transportation sectors, including experience assessing (infrastructure) debt transactions and conducting due diligence
  • Experience assessing corporate financings or high yield investment opportunities
  • Demonstrated Excel skills with expertise in creating and reviewing Excel financial models for corporate or project finance transactions
  • Good understanding of global debt markets
  • Experience writing in a very articulated manner detailed credit memos
  • Good interpersonal skills and team player
