The Growth Markets team is responsible for client relationships and business development activities in Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East.
The team consists of seasoned professionals from various countries, with decades of business development, relationship management, and client service experience across geographical regions. Further credentials include a high degree of flexibility and client centricity, professionally advising and servicing a widely diversified, multicultural investor base in a multitude of different languages.
Client coverage includes central banks, sovereign wealth funds, and other government entities, as well as pension funds, corporates, and family offices. The team also services our regional and multinational distribution partners who distribute our funds to retail investors.
This role will be based in Frankfurt.
What you will do
- The role will have a primary focus on business development activities for wholesale clients across Africa.
- Develop, retain, and expand long-term relationships with senior stakeholders at clients, prospects, and distribution partners.
- Identify new areas for business expansion, including organic growth and new distribution partnerships.
- Create awareness of AllianzGI’s strategic focus and leadership positions in Sustainability and Private Markets.
- Use consultant contacts and market research to develop a broad-based understanding of clients’ investment objectives and market‑specific trends and regulations.
- Source and deliver products, solutions, and papers that provide forward‑thinking insights and emphasize AllianzGI’s position as a provider of innovative asset management solutions and global thought leadership.
- Partner with colleagues across the firm - including product specialists, portfolio managers, marketing, and sales support - to initiate and proactively support the development of targeted and tailored solutions, products, and services.
- Ensure consistent and comprehensive use of CRM tools to manage the client base.
What you bring
- Strong academic background.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
- Experience in distributing financial services within Africa, including South Africa, preferably with representative status (RE5) with the FSCA is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Salesforce.
- Willing and able to undertake frequent business trips to meet clients and prospects.
- Experience with Microsoft Copilot.
