Financial Data Analyst (Sales Controlling) (f/m/d) - Limited to 18 months

Sales & AuM Controlling is a global team based in Munich and Frankfurt, responsible for validating and reporting key metrics such as Assets under Management, net cash flows, and associated run-rate revenues. These data and reports serve a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. In addition to its core responsibilities, the team has developed and maintains its own reporting infrastructure, leveraging Power BI and SQL to ensure data accuracy and accessibility.
The Data Analyst will report to the Head of Sales & AuM Controlling.
This role will be based in Frankfurt or Munich.
What you will do
- Perform regular data quality checks across the end-to-end Sales Controlling process chain, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of reported figures
- Support the timely production and delivery of sales reporting to relevant stakeholders
- Assist in building and maintaining reports, dashboards, and data models using SAP Analysis for Office (AFO), Power BI, and SQL
- Contribute to the development of new reporting solutions as part of the evolving data landscape (e.g., SAP Datasphere)
- Ensure the confidential handling of data in line with need-to-know principles
- Support the Finance Transformation Program, including the migration of existing reports and processes to new tools (SAP Datasphere, SAP SAC, Power BI)
- Analyze data sources and underlying processes to understand key metrics and identify data inconsistencies
- Provide ad hoc analyses and presentations to support business and management requests
- Help manage and prioritize multiple requests from different stakeholders
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in Sales Controlling processes and reporting
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, or a related field
- Initial practical experience (e.g., internship or up to 2 years) in data analysis, controlling, or reporting
- Strong Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, data handling)
- Initial experience with SAP BI / Analysis for Office (AFO), Power BI, or similar reporting tools
- Basic knowledge of SQL or a willingness to develop these skills
- Understanding of data structures and data quality principles
- Experience with Power BI (reporting, basic data modeling) is a plus
- Familiarity with SAP Datasphere or similar tools is a plus
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to deep dive into data and ensure high data quality
- Structured, solution-oriented mindset with a strong focus on execution
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and summarize data, and derive meaningful insights
- Curious and proactive, with a strong willingness to learn new tools and technologies
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in parallel
- Good communication skills, with the ability to explain data clearly
- Confidence in interacting with different stakeholders, including senior management
- Strong team spirit and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Interest in process improvement, digitalization, and emerging topics such as AI
- Experience with Microsoft CoPilot
- Experience in Asset Management, Financial Services, or Consulting is a plus
- Fluent in English; German is a plus
