Legal Specialist AI (f/m/d)

We are looking for a Legal Specialist AI to join the Legal Department of Allianz Global Investors, a globally active asset manager, in Frankfurt am Main.

Our Legal department advises management, sales teams, and operational functions on all fundamental matters relating to German and European investment, capital markets, and contract law. This includes IT and AI law, which has become increasingly important due to the digital transformation of our company.

What you will do

As a member of an international team, you will support the Data Protection & AI Trust Officer in implementing and ensuring compliance with AllianzGI’s AI governance. Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the entire AI lifecycle, from system development to deployment and ongoing monitoring
• Conducting reviews of new and existing AI use cases and systems based on our governance program, including risk classification, documentation, and monitoring of AI systems  
• Maintaining our inventory of AI systems and data protection processes, including risk classifications and assessments
• Assisting in the identification and registration of new AI use cases and systems within governance processes
• Tracking compliance requirements for high-risk AI systems under the EU AI Act
• Acting as a point of contact for business partners and use case owners
• Supporting the development of AI training materials
• Acting as a coordination point between Legal, IT Security, Data Governance, Compliance, and business teams for AI governance topics

What you bring

• Law degree (e.g., Bachelor of Laws, Wirtschaftsjurist)
• IAPP CIPP/E and/or AIGP certification is an advantage
• Initial professional experience as a legal specialist or paralegal in a law firm or an international company
• Prior experience with OneTrust or a similar tool is beneficial
• Initial experience with IT tools and a willingness to assume responsibility for our e-repository
• Very good command of written and spoken English for business purposes, already applied in a professional context
• Knowledge of AI law, GDPR, and regulatory matters
• Ability to communicate ideas clearly in both oral and written form
• Strong analytical skills, a problem‑solving mindset, and entrepreneurial spirit
• Independent, thorough, structured, and target‑oriented working style
