To support this journey, we are looking for a forward-thinking and results-oriented Senior Quant Engineer (f/m/d) to join our Multi Asset Investment team in Frankfurt and enhance our Multi Asset strategies and systems.
In this role, you will help design and deliver scalable solutions that empower investment research, portfolio management, analytics, and AI-enabled use cases across our global Portfolio Management function. You will play a key role in advancing our data-driven investment processes by building robust data platforms, pipelines, and backend services in a modern, agile environment.
This role sits at the intersection of portfolio management, end-to-end quantitative system development, and IT. It is an exciting opportunity to take ownership from day one and contribute to a meaningful transformation of the investment management industry.

What you will do
- Collaborate closely with senior PMs on portfolio construction, optimization, and rebalancing frameworks.
- Work closely with investment teams, analysts, and architects to translate business and data requirements into scalable solutions.
- Implement and enhance scalable, modular backtesting and simulation frameworks for multi-asset and derivative strategies, incorporating real-world implementation constraints.
- Bring research models into production-grade investment and risk systems.
- Design and maintain end-to-end applications (including data ingestion, signal creation, portfolio construction, risk analysis, and monitoring).
- Design and manage large-scale financial and alternative data pipelines, transforming raw data into high-quality, model-ready datasets for specific investment use cases.
- Build and maintain backend components and APIs that provide reliable access to data products and platform services.
- Contribute to technical design decisions for data-intensive systems, ensuring scalability, performance, security, and compliance.
- Integrate AI/ML-driven approaches for feature engineering, signal extraction, and pattern recognition across macroeconomic and cross-asset datasets.
What you bring
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, backend engineering, quantitative development/research, and/or portfolio management.
- University degree in Computer Science, Finance, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Good understanding of portfolio construction, preferably in a multi-asset context, core asset classes, and global markets.
- Good understanding of financial markets, futures (rates, equity indices, and commodities), and options (including delta, gamma, convexity, and implied volatility concepts).
- Knowledge of econometrics and statistical modeling.
- Hands-on experience in developing, deploying, and operating production-grade solutions in Python.
- Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
- Hands-on experience with data pipelines and data platforms.
- Familiarity with modern SDLC tools such as Git, GitHub/GitLab, and Jira; experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
- Exposure to AI, GenAI, and ML-enabled solutions is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to PMs and business requirements to engineering and platform teams.
- Strong written and spoken English skills.
- Agile mindset, collaborative working style, and a high level of ownership.
- Experience with AI and Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Data Integration, DevOps Technologies, Data Science.
