We are looking for a Risk Consulting Manager for our Property team. This position is remote, but candidates must physically reside in one of the following locations: Pennsylvania, Texas, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Georgia, or Toronto, Ontario.

Your Team  

Our Allianz Risk Consulting (ARC) team is made up of experienced engineers from a wide range of technical and scientific disciplines. The team provides a flexible range of risk consulting services, from natural hazards, fire safety, and human and organizational risk factors to in-depth analysis of industry operations, and financial exposures, across all industry sectors and risks. We also focus on delivering bespoke training plans to help our clients to optimize risk management procedures in the long term.

 

The Impact You Will Have  

Reporting to the ARC Regional Manager, North America, this position is responsible for leading the regional ARC Property team and implementing loss control best practices across the NA region by ensuring consistent, timely, and high-quality service delivery to Property Underwriting and Allianz clients throughout the region. Provide support to the Regional ARC Manager and the Property Global Matrix Leader in implementing and monitoring agreed priorities, productivity and initiatives in the region. Drive digital change and the implementation of data-driven tools within the regional team by aligning with global digital tools and processes. Utilize technology and AI to improve efficiencies, monitor emerging risks in the region, conceptualize risk profiles.  Proactively foster collaborations to address these challenges and share solutions.

This leadership role combines strategic oversight with hands-on expertise, ensuring Allianz remains at the forefront of property risk consulting in an increasingly complex and digitalized environment. Some of your specific responsibilities could include: 

  • Ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery to Property underwriting and Allianz clients throughout North America (NA) by maintaining excellent communication channels and dynamically evaluating feedback to improve the efficiency of the NA ARC team. Responsible for fostering a responsive environment where client needs are met promptly and effectively.
  • Tasked with delivering the ARC Property strategy in the region.  This involves monitoring applicable KPIs, steering performance to meet regional objectives, actively supporting and promoting changes in ways of working and deliverables as defined by the ARC Property Global Head and the NA ARC Regional Manager. Responsible for monitoring the budget and expenses of the regional ARC Property team.
  • Hold disciplinary responsibility for all direct reporting staff. Ensure a fully aligned approach to management of entire team and development aligned with the global ARC growth plan. Actively lead, manage, and cultivate the growth of the team, focusing on their professional development, team resilience and fostering a collaborative environment.  Complete required annual staff appraisals; coach and guide the growth of the regional ARC Property team capabilities by aligning with the global implementation of tools based on new technologies such as Data Analytics and Agentic AI.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with relevant regional and global stakeholders such as underwriting and marketing.  Develop collaborative strategies that align efforts and processes to realize efficiencies and achieve shared goals and objectives.  Foster and drive a "one Allianz" culture in the regional ARC Property team.
  • Provide regional support in offering expert recommendations on risk selection and retention as required.  Support clients and underwriting by engaging in risk dialogues, meetings and presentations as required. Support Allianz Commercial functions (Underwriting, Claims, Marketing, etc.) and clients by providing technical insights and service solutions in current and emerging risks about various industries, products, and technical applications.
  • Provide inputs and suggestions for continuous improvement aligned with the ARC Property growth plan. Organize and chair regional RC team meetings, liaise with other functions to ensure consistent global process alignment.  Collaborate closely with regional underwriting leadership to develop solutions that satisfy regional business needs and align with functional processes.  Foster and enhance collaborations with other ARC LoBs, regions and Allianz Commercial functions regionally.

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role  

  • A minimum 11 years’ loss prevention engineering experience in an area relevant to his/her LoB. Knowledge and professional experience in business sectors with a focus on large, complex multi-national exposures, and a strong background in fire protection, loss prevention engineering, and hazard analysis.
    • Knowledge of emerging risks, including climate resilience, renewable energy systems and cyber-physical threats to property. Familiarity with updated industry standards such as FM Global and NFPA (including recent updates to NFPA 13, 25, and 72).
    • Well versed in semi-conductor, chemical/pharmaceutical, automotive, hazards (Nat-Cat, BI/IBI/CBI/supply chain, emerging risks, loss estimates derivation, sprinklers/water supply/surveillance/construction), and HPR insurance industry.
  • A minimum 3 years’ experience working in a complex global matrix organization leading a team of professionals. Experience with international colleagues and an understanding of differing cultural business needs.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering. Or a degree equivalent in other area will be considered in conjunction with extensive, demonstrable technical experience in relevant line of business, occupancies and hazards.
    • Professional certifications such as CFPS (Certified Fire Protection Specialist), PE (Professional Engineer), or membership in NFPA are highly desirable.
    • Completion of recent courses or certifications in areas such as: Climate Risk Management (e.g., Climate Risk Certification by GARP). Advanced Fire Protection Systems (e.g., NFPA training programs). Digital Risk Management (e.g., IoT and AI applications in risk consulting).
  • A demonstrable engineering/technical expertise specific to the hazards and occupancies associated with property risk engineering. Commitment to maintaining knowledge of developments and new technologies in field.
  • Able to work technical loss control topics. Knowledge of specific business sectors. o               Ability to work effectively with clients on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives related to property risk.
  • Ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team of risk consultants. Includes the ability to delegate tasks, steer team direction/goals, etc. Strong mentoring and coaching capabilities to develop talent within the team.
  • Presentation skills in a varied environment. Organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with digital tools and platforms, including risk modeling software, data analytics and data visualization tools. Familiarity with sustainability frameworks (e.g., LEED, BREEAM) and their implications for property risk.
  • Ability to travel extensively across the region and internationally as needed.
  • Working knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), with the ability to leverage AI-drive insights to shape strategic decisions and drive innovation across the organization.

The annualized base pay range for this role is $136,720 - $206,592 in the U.S. The annualized base pay range for this role is $143,920 - $217,488 CAD in Canada. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
