Full Stack Engineer (m/f/d)

We are seeking a talented Full Stack Engineer (m/f/d) to play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining full-stack applications (front-end and back-end) that drive PPRE’s digital and operational strategy. In this position, you will transform business and functional requirements into robust, secure, and scalable software solutions across both backend and frontend components. As a vital member of the Tech Delivery team, you will collaborate closely with external vendor development teams, product teams, and data platform stakeholders to deliver high-quality, enterprise-grade applications.

Key Responsibilities

Full‑Stack Software Engineering

• Implement full‑stack features and enhancements based on defined requirements and architectural guidance.
• Translate business needs into robust full‑stack solutions, contributing to both backend and frontend components.
• Drive backend development using Python, applying approved frameworks such as FastAPI and Pydantic for API and model implementation.
• Work with and create relational data models (e.g., PostgreSQL) and implement queries, validation logic, and integration with upstream/downstream systems.
• Develop async background processing tasks (e.g. using Celery with Redis).
• Deliver frontend inside a React / TypeScript SPA codebase, following established component structures, API integration patterns (e.g., react‑query), and design system standards (MUI).

Architecture & Technical Design Support

• Apply established architecture patterns and lead design discussions in alignment with Enterprise Architecture practice.
• Raise design questions or trade‑off considerations when implementing assigned components.
• Ensure implementation aligns with defined full‑stack architectural standards and integration contracts.

API Development & Integration

• Implement REST APIs following defined design principles, ensuring clarity, maintainability, and conformance to integration standards.
• Develop integration between application backends and data platform layers by adhering to established interface contracts.

Quality, Testing & Maintainability

• Apply a test‑automation mindset by writing unit and integration tests for assigned features.
• Contribute to code quality, consistency, and maintainability by following established engineering standards and driving reviews.

DevSecOps & Delivery Support

• Create CI/CD pipelines and container‑based deployment structures
• Apply secure coding practices and support the use of SAST/DAST tooling, secrets management, and IaC standards.
• Ensure operational readiness by implementing logging, monitoring, and deployment validation.

Vendor & Collaboration Support

• Collaborate with external engineering vendors by clarifying requirements, reviewing deliverables, and escalating inconsistencies to principal IT engineers.
• Support structured design and code review sessions by providing feedback on assigned areas.

Key Requirements

Experience & Education

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience in enterprise or comparable environments
• Hands-on experience with full‑stack delivery pipelines and collaborative development environments.

Technical Competencies

• Senior level Python backend development–
  • production experience with FastAPI and Pydantic;
  • hands-on experience with async task processing patterns (e.g. Celery with Redis broker)
  • hands-on experience with relational database modelling (PostgreSQL or similar)
• Senior level frontend development
  • Experience with React, TypeScript, component libraries (MUI), state management patterns, and API integrations (react-query).
• DevSecOps & CI/CD literacy,
  • Understand and develop CI/CD pipelines, container-based deployments, secrets managementand, SAST/DAST tooling, infrastructure-as-code, automated testing approaches.
  • Able to define standards and challenge vendor implementations
• Strong understanding of REST API design principles, experience in governing integration contracts between systems, including integrations between application backends and data platform layers.
• Proven ability to review and accept / reject technical deliverables from external development teams
  • Experience in running structured design reviews, holding vendors accountable to agreed standards
  • Review code from other engineers, ensuring quality, consistency, and maintainability
• Foundational knowledge of data lakehouse architectures, Databricks or similar
• Hands-on experience with cloud based infrastructures (esp. Azure services)
• AI-assisted development fluency: Hands-on experience with modern AI coding tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Cursor.ai, Claude Code) and informed view on where they accelerate delivery vs. where they introduce risk.
