Who will you be joining?
Located at Allianz’s headquarters in Munich, Group Sustainable Operations drives the Group-wide approach to reducing the environmental footprint of Allianz’s own operations. The unit leads the strategic implementation of Allianz’s commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from all Allianz sites and activities across more than 70 markets.
Group Sustainable Operations aligns the operational environmental strategy across all entities, collaborates closely with local and global stakeholders, and ensures progress against Allianz’s environmental and emissions‑reduction targets.
Group Sustainable Operations also manages partnerships with ocean-focused organizations and NGOs and develops initiatives to support protecting marine ecosystems while raising employee awareness and engagement around ocean sustainability.
How can you make an impact?
The Group Sustainable Operations team is looking for full‑time interns (m/f/d) with a duration of 6–12 months to support ocean-related projects and communications activities. In this role, you will help bring Group Sustainable Operations initiatives to life by
- conducting research
- supporting partnership management
- creating engaging content
- organizing events
You will work in a dynamic and international environment with the opportunity for active involvement and increasing responsibility in a high‑performing and collaborative team. Depending on your assigned work stream, your tasks may include:
- Conducting research on ocean-related topics and sustainability initiatives, synthesize complex information, and prepare clear and concise summaries for different audiences
- Supporting the management of existing ocean sustainability partnerships by coordinating activities, tracking progress, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Monitoring relevant developments and trends in ocean sustainability, marine conservation, and corporate sustainability to identify opportunities for engagement and communication
- Supporting the planning and delivery of events, such as on-site activations, workshops, offsites, and team events, by contributing to ideation, event design, stakeholder coordination, logistics, and execution
- Designing visually appealing presentations, communication materials, and creative assets to support ocean sustainability initiatives and events
- Creating engaging content for internal channels (intranet, newsletters) and external platforms (e.g., LinkedIn), including articles and communications that promote and raise awareness of our ocean sustainability partnerships and initiatives
What are you made of?
Qualifications
- You are currently working towards a university degree (master, PhD) in Marine Science & Oceanography, Environmental Science & Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, or any related field
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken; strong writing and communication skills are essential
- Previous experience in communications, sustainability, event management
- Availability for 6–12 months
Experience & Key Skills
- Strong ability to think and act independently with the capacity to quickly adapt to new situations
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Proactive, collaborative, and detail-oriented, with a willingness to take ownership of tasks and learn in a dynamic environment
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word); experience with design tools such as Canva is a plus
