Job Purpose/Role
As a Senior Expert Accountant in our Private Markets Investment Controlling and Valuation Team, you will play a central role in the accounting and financial reporting of international direct and indirect investments across alternative asset classes, including infrastructure, renewable energy, and private equity. You will be responsible for preparing IFRS and HGB accounting assessments for new transactions, providing technical accounting guidance to the investment teams as well as to internal and external accounting service providers, and ensuring high‑quality reporting and closing processes for our investment vehicles.
A further key part of your role will be to lead the planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for the portfolio companies, ensuring transparency and robust financial steering of the asset portfolio. In addition, you will manage audit activities and work closely with internal stakeholders and external auditors to ensure compliance and the delivery of high‑quality financial outputs.
Your responsibilities
- Prepare IFRS and HGB Accounting Assessments
Conduct accounting assessments for M&A transactions in alternative assets, including infrastructure, renewable energy, and private equity. - Provide Technical Accounting Advice
Act as the primary advisor on IFRS and HGB matters for investment teams, internal and external Service Provider, supporting deal structuring, onboarding of newly acquired investments, and ongoing operations. - Manage Financial Reporting & Quarterly Closing
Oversee accurate and timely financial reporting for investment vehicles within Allianz Group, ensuring full compliance with Group Accounting standards.
Coordinate and execute the end‑to‑end quarterly closing processes for alternative asset entities, ensuring data quality, completeness, and alignment with internal and external stakeholders. - Conduct Forecasting, Planning & Budgeting
Manage forecasts, plans, and budgets for the alternative asset’s portfolio and support performance analysis and business reporting. - Manage Audit Processes
Lead and coordinate the quarterly and annual external audit processes, ensuring effective communication and the timely delivery of audit requirements.
Your profile
- University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, ideally with a focus on IFRS/HGB
- Strong expertise in international accounting standards (IFRS) and solid knowledge of HGB
- Several years of professional experience in accounting, financial reporting, investment accounting, or in a Big 4 company
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret and explain complex issues
- High level of initiative, flexibility, and resilience, coupled with enjoyment in working in a dynamic, international environment
- Experience in applying generative AI tools like Copilot to automate processes and improve operational efficiency
- Excellent communication skills, high motivation, strong team orientation, and willingness to take ownership
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; experience with SAP HANA and ECCS is an advantage
- Very good German and English skills
