Job Purpose/Role
To support the expansion of our Private Markets Platform, we are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst with deep valuation expertise to strengthen our Investment Controlling & Valuation – Direct Equity Strategies team in Munich. This role covers the valuation and performance oversight of direct equity investments in infrastructure and renewable energy, a key pillar of Allianz Group’s alternative asset portfolio. You will report to the Head of Private Markets Investment Controlling & Valuation – Direct Equity Strategies and collaborate closely with an experienced international team.
Your responsibilities
- Lead regular IFRS-compliant company valuations in close cooperation with investment and asset management teams, present and discuss valuation results with Senior Management
- Drive the continuous enhancement of ACP’s valuation framework, ensuring robust methodologies, efficient processes, and strong alignment across strategies (e.g., private debt, indirect strategies, and co‑investments
- Monitor and analyze the financial and operational performance of Allianz Group and third‑party equity portfolios; challenge assumptions and identify value drivers
- Prepare P&L forecasts and planning (IFRS) for Allianz Group
- Preparation of P&L (IFRS) forecasting and planning for Allianz Group
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with asset management, accounting, risk management, and reporting throughout the investment lifecycle
- Support onboarding of new strategies (e.g., Energy Transition) and investments, including design of valuation, reporting, and planning frameworks
- Manage recurring investor reporting and act as a key point of contact for Senior Management on valuation and controlling topics for selected assets and mandates
- Mentor and support junior team members in developing technical and professional skills
Your profile
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, or related field. CFA, CVA, or similar certifications are a strong plus
- Several years of work experience in valuation, corporate finance or investment controlling, ideally within asset management or a Big 4 environment
- Strong knowledge of IFRS valuation, financial modelling, governance frameworks, and accounting. Familiarity with Solvency II and fund structures is beneficial
- Excellent MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with PowerBI is an advantage
- Openness to digital tools and hands‑on experience applying generative AI (e.g., Copilot) to automate processes or increase efficiency
- Experience in applying generative AI tools like Copilot to automate processes and improve operational efficiency
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; structured and independent working style
- Excellent communication skills, high motivation, strong team orientation, and willingness to take ownership
- Fluent in English; German is a plus
