What you do:
You will be a senior team member responsible for daily Investment Operations with focus on private assets including Corporate Private Debt, Limited Partnerships, Rated Notes, Securitizations, Private Equity, and Private ABS. You will bring a strong understanding of the lifecycle of an investment, subject matter expertise to support the ongoing operations and expansion of AIM's private investment portfolio. You will manage designated processes including overseeing trade processing, reconciling, analyzing portfolio and security master data and investment and accounting reporting. You will work with other teams, those within the organization (accounting, treasury, policy, risk, portfolio management), and those externally (asset managers, custodians, trustees) to ensure that investment operations are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Further you will mentor less experienced staff on industry best practices, guide important projects to implement straight through processing, and further increase repetitive investment value chain processes to deliver value to AIM's clients. You will report to the AIM AVP – Investment Operations.
- Trade and Position Review: Facilitate the accurate booking of trades and resulting positions, ensuring that all trades are reflected on Allianz's books and records (IBOR, ABOR) observing regulatory guidelines and internal policies.
- Cash Management: Monitor cash balances and ensure that all cash transactions are processed including funding private deals.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile portfolio data against custodian and asset manager statements and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Investment Strategy Execution: Work with internal investment managers and external asset managers to ensure that investment strategies are booked timely and accurately demonstrating knowledge of the governing documents of the investment mandates.
- Reporting: Create reports to provide insight into accounting, compliance and risk management, and operational efficiency.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and procedures to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
- Investment Operations Controls: Monitor and ensure sound investment operational controls both internally and with external asset managers over core processes including trade settlement, cash, and related reconciliations.
- Relationship Management: Building relationships internally and with asset managers is critical to the success of this role.
- Utilization of artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g. generative AI).
What you bring:
- 5+ years of experience in investment operations dealing with public or private securities
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field
- Good understanding of investment management processes
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require immigration sponsorship for visa status now or in the future (e.g. H1-B, L-1, TN, etc). If you are currently on CPT/OPT, you are ineligible due to the need for future immigration sponsorship.
Base Salary Range:
AIM Associate: $84,000 - $126,000
AIM Principal: $100,000 - $150,000
Actual base salary may vary based upon factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, internal equity of peers, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual incentive program.
