What you do:

The FMO Sales Director is an institutional wholesaler, focused on establishing and maintaining account relationships with FMO wholesalers and the sales leadership of financial institutions to drive sales and attain sales targets. The primary focus of this role is regular engagement and relationship management to understand the firm needs and sales strategies to offer customized solutions to grow market share. Additionally, the FMO Sales Director is responsible for developing and driving a targeted strategy to manage their assigned accounts and serves as a subject matter expert, influencing wholesalers (Marketers) and financial institutions (AFMOs) on the Allianz value proposition and our full portfolio of products and services.

 

Wholesaling: Establish and maintain productive account relationships with FMO Wholesalers and the sales leadership of financial institutions. Regularly engage and manage the relationship through face-to-face and virtual interactions to understand the firm needs and sales strategies in order to offer customized solutions such as marketing support, client events, etc.. Educate FMO Wholesalers and sales leadership on the Allianz value proposition and our full portfolio of product solutions and services while positioning Allianz against competitors. Support them in effectively incorporating our products into their value proposition and sales process. Serves as a subject matter expert, influencing FAs on our products and services. Develop, coordinate, and/or deliver compelling presentations, seminars, and workshops on a variety of topics. Represent Allianz Life at client and industry conferences and events.

 

Account Management: Develop and maintain a targeted strategy to manage their assigned accounts. Plan and schedule sales visits, meetings, and events to optimize time and resources while driving maximum sales results. Leverage data to identify opportunities to acquire new business and increase market share in addition to measuring effectiveness of sales strategies. Collaborate with internal sales and others to align strategies, prioritize focus, address issues, and ensure seamless support for assigned firms. Continuously research and analyze market trends and competitor activities to stay ahead of industry developments.

 

What you bring:

  • 4+ years’ experience required with a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working with FMOs/IMOs
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • MN life producer license is required; ability to obtain Series 6, 7, 65 or 66 within 180 days of promotion/hire
  • Extensive travel is required as well as frequent presence at Allianz Life headquarters in Minneapolis; job may require periods of bending, stooping, sitting or standing
  • Utilization of artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g. generative AI).
  • You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require immigration sponsorship for visa status now or in the future (e.g. H1-B, L-1, TN, etc). If you are currently on CPT/OPT, you are ineligible due to the need for future immigration sponsorship. 

 

Base Salary Range:  $99,000 - $110,000 plus Variable Compensation

 

Actual base salary may vary based upon factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, internal equity of peers, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual incentive program.
