What you do:
Under general direction, the Enterprise Architect – Disaster Recovery & IT Service Continuity provides architectural leadership for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of disaster recovery (DR) and IT service continuity capabilities across the enterprise. This role ensures technology architectures meet Allianz ITSCM requirements, support business continuity objectives, and enable resilient, recoverable IT services aligned to business criticality.
The role partners closely with Business Continuity Management (BCM) teams, Allianz Technology of America, and internal IT and business stakeholders to ensure disaster recovery architectures are consistent, tested, compliant, and integrated into the broader enterprise architecture landscape.
Disaster Recovery & ITSCM Architecture
- Lead the definition, documentation, and ongoing maintenance of enterprise wide disaster recovery architecture standards, patterns, and target states aligned with Allianz ITSCM frameworks and policies.
- Ensure all business critical applications and services are supported by appropriate disaster recovery architectures consistent with their assigned Disaster Recovery Class (DRC).
- Define architectural guidance for recovery scenarios including data restoration, system failover, infrastructure resilience, and third party service dependencies.
Enterprise & Portfolio Architecture Integration
- Analyze the current IT application and infrastructure portfolio to identify disaster recovery gaps, architectural weaknesses, and resilience risks.
- Partner with IT and business leadership to define remediation roadmaps that reduce recovery risk, complexity, and time to restore services while increasing operational resilience.
- Ensure disaster recovery requirements are embedded into solution architectures, cloud strategies, and technology modernization initiatives.
BCM Partnership & Business Alignment
- Collaborate closely with BCM partners to ensure alignment between IT Disaster Recovery Plans (IT DRPs) and Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), including recovery objectives, dependencies, and escalation paths.
- Support BCM led risk assessments, business impact analyses, and assurance activities by providing architectural input on recoverability and technical feasibility.
- Act as a key technology advisor during BCM and ITSCM governance reviews, audits, and regulatory inquiries related to disaster recovery readiness
Allianz Technology of America & External Partner Collaboration
- Work in close partnership with Allianz Technology of America to ensure disaster recovery solutions, services, and test programs meet Allianz ITSCM requirements and agreed service levels.
- Provide architectural oversight for DR solution design, implementation, and testing delivered by Allianz Technology of America and other external providers.
- Review service level agreements, recovery capabilities, and third party evidence to ensure recoverability obligations are met and documented.
Testing, Assurance & Continuous Improvement
- Define architectural expectations for disaster recovery testing, ensuring solutions are testable, repeatable, and aligned with Allianz ITSCM testing requirements.
- Review test results, post exercise reports, and remediation actions to drive architectural improvements and reduce systemic recovery risks.
- Ensure disaster recovery architectures evolve based on test outcomes, technology changes, and emerging resilience requirements.
Architecture Governance & Leadership
- Create, maintain, and communicate shared disaster recovery and ITSCM architecture models across the enterprise.
- Provide architectural guidance, mentoring, and oversight to solution architects and engineering teams on resilience and recoverability design.
- Promote the effective and responsible use of automation and artificial intelligence tools where appropriate to enhance resilience analysis and architectural decision making.
Key Capabilities & Experience
- Strong background in enterprise architecture with demonstrated experience in disaster recovery, IT service continuity, or operational resilience.
- Working knowledge of Allianz ITSCM frameworks, DR/BCP concepts, and regulatory or audit expectations related to recoverability.
- Proven ability to collaborate across BCM, infrastructure, application, cloud, and external service provider teams.
- Experience influencing architectural outcomes across complex, multi-vendor and hybrid technology environments.
- Utilization of artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g. generative AI).
What you bring:
- 8-10 years of experience required. Exclusive progressive experience in a development or Solutions required Engineer capacity, documenting, and designing systems, with exposure to wide range of various information technologies and architectures.
- Four-year degree required. Degree or equivalent work experience. Software Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or Business Management related discipline, or equivalent specialized training, work experience and/or certifications.
- You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring immigration sponsorship now or in the future. This includes holders of H-1B, H4, L-1, L-2, TN, OPT, CPT, and other nonimmigrant visas
Job posting range $120,000 - $180,500
Note the job posting range is exclusive of company benefits or other compensation. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive program. If you are hired, your final base salary will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, experience, skills, competencies, and/or education. In addition to those factors, we will also consider internal equity of our current employees. Please keep in mind that the range provided is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at or near the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.
