We are looking for a Regional Head of North America Product Governance in New York or Chicago.
Your Team
The North America Product Governance Team supports and guides our business partners in product governance with US regulatory requirements in conjunction with Legal NA and US State Affairs, including preparation of rates, rules, and policy forms for filing and negotiation of approvals by US State Affairs. Our mission is to promote consistency between LOBs related to rates, rules and forms and help navigate the North American regulatory requirements to help facilitate speed to market for any product changes.
The Impact You Will Have
As Head of North America Product Governance, you are part of the Allianz Commercial Global Product Management leadership team. You will build and lead the North American Centralized Product Governance Unit to proactively lead and support the business in ensuring compliance with US state laws, including creating and maintaining rates, rules, and policy forms, maintaining compliance with US state law and regulation changes, and being the point of contact to ensure all regulatory compliance activities (e.g., market conduct support, data calls, surcharges, etc.) are addressed in a timely and thorough manner.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

Building and leading the NA Centralized Product Governance unit ensuring that Global Product Management initiatives and product related governance within Allianz Commercial is implemented and followed.

Coordinating the team to work closely with the Business and Actuarial to create/update/maintain rate, rule and forms for submission to state departments of insurance by Government & Regulatory Affairs (GRA), including addressing filing objections, etc., to achieve approval in all target states.

Performing actuarial pricing as related to state regulatory requirements, including pulling and interpreting data from various applications such as Risk Browser or Global Genius.

Performing policy form/endorsement writing, including the ability to read/understand state regulations, translating them into policy wording for issuance and GRA filing as required.

Performing manuscript policy form reviews and/or interpreting/writing new wordings in conjunction with Underwriting, Claims and Legal.

Providing support to Product Development Team and being proactive in the market with product development and new coverages.

Performing timely competitor manuscript form reviews and training the team on the forms.

Providing business level support for market conduct examinations, including assisting with responding to inquiries and overall organization and coordination with the business.

Acting as point of contact for market conduct examinations, including assisting in the response of inquiries and overall organization and coordination from the business standpoint.

Handling data call requests, reporting and surcharge related activities, ensuring data quality and completeness.

Reviewing legal and regulatory changes to determine what their impact to the business and implementing accordingly.

Reviewing Non-Disclosure Agreements and Confidentiality Agreements, acting as a consultant on the same.

Managing other projects/performing other duties, as needed.
What You’ll Bring to the Role:

A minimum of 7 years of experience with state regulatory compliance experience, including product/form/endorsement development, product filing and interaction with State Regulators;

Prior leadership experience;

Experience with pricing/rate/rule development;

Experience working with Actuarial to ensure proper pricing of products and creation of rates and rules;

Ability to develop and implement policies and endorsements;
-
Experience reviewing Non-Disclosure and Confidentiality agreements, acting as consultant on the same;

Ability to organize projects to ensure all roles are clear and all deadlines are met;
-
Ability to analyze highly complex data and information, from multiple sources, in detail;
-
Ability to utilize AI tools to support day-to-day tasks, improve efficiency and contribute to data-driven decision making;

Ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally;

Ability to work in partnership with multiple departments to ensure all products/rates are filed and approved; and
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Legal, Finance and/or Actuarial background preferred.
The annualized base pay range for this role is $225,000 - $260,000. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
