Reporting Line: Regional Head of Underwriting

 

This position will be responsible for serving as the centerpiece for our regional risk management and portfolio steering, ensuring a constant portfolio quality and supporting sustainable growth for the regional organization. The role offers the ability to conduct in-depth analysis based on credit and surety metrics, while strongly interacting with our local Underwriters, both for global portfolio monitoring reasons but also for decision making when it comes to Regional authority  

This role manages a portfolio of companies in a volatile environment by analyzing Surety parameters, public and private financial data, market trends, microeconomic conditions, and is providing strong support and guidance to local teams

 

 

Key Responsibilities and Duties

 

  • Manage a profitable portfolio of business utilizing sound credit analysis techniques in relation with specifics of the surety facilities and surety standards
  • Provides strong guidance and support both to the local teams and regional team on portfolio steering and prospects studies
  • Perform consistent financial and credit analysis to determine the appropriate credit rating of companies (prospects or accounts) being analyzed within regional underwriting’s authority and scope, and make detailed recommendations to Regional Underwriting Coordinator
  • Connect with all stakeholders (Surety organization, TCI Credit team, Group Surety and Group Credit) to ensure proper and full ability to perform assigned responsibilities
  • Ensures timely monitoring and renewal of facilities within the assigned portfolio together with data consistency and compliance with Group and local rules and processes

Required Qualifications and Skills

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Finance, MBA preferred
  • 7+ years’ experience in financial management experience, preferably in a Surety environment, or in banking, credit insurance
  • Excellent communication skills, team-spirit and customer-service mindset
  • Credit knowledge and experience with high-volume risk analysis and underwriting, strong skills in financial analysis; very good knowledge of Finance and Credit Management
  • Macro and micro economic knowledge
  • Strong adaptability in a fast-changing organization
  • Strong computer skills, with an understanding of financial software and spreadsheet packages

 

  • Looking for candidates that possess a basic awareness of Artificial Intelligence technologies and are enthusiastic about learning and integrating AI into everyday business processes.

 

Total compensation range:

$115,000 - $135,000

 

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary ranges are only one component of our total compensation package.
