Portfolio Assistant Fixed Income f/m/d)

We are hiring a Portfolio Assistant for our Paris office, supporting the Global Fixed Income Platform. This role will be offered as an 18-month fixed term contract.
In this role, you will support Portfolio Managers across a broad range of fixed income portfolios, ensuring efficient implementation, accurate risk management, and high-quality portfolio maintenance.

What you do
- Work with Portfolio Managers to implement investment decisions in portfolios, prepare orders for PM approval, support execution of trades across rates, credit, emerging markets, high yield, and FX. Coordinate with our dedicated trading desk
- Manage cash positions, New Issue participation, work with PMs on client flows and reflect appropriate funding strategies in portfolios
- As a team, manage risk neutral maintenance trades such as Futures and FX rolls, duration hedging adjustments and yield curve and sector rebalances
- Monitor portfolio positions (rates, credit, and FX) versus benchmarks and targets, work with PMs to rebalance accounts accordingly
- Oversee daily guideline management, identify exceptions, and suggest corrective trades to PMs to ensure portfolios remain within client and regulatory guidelines
- Support the growing Private Markets FX hedging process
- As required, collaborate with Portfolio Managers creating internal investment-related materials, contribute to presentations, and respond to client requests
- Contribute to team meetings as required
- Work on projects on behalf of the Investment teams as required
- Escalate to the Head of Portfolio Construction and FI Infrastructure any matters that may reasonably be expected to have a material impact upon the firm or any client relationship.
What you bring
- A degree in Economics, Finance or Mathematics or similarly numerate degree
- Interest in global fixed income markets
- Strong analytical capability and clear confident communication skills
- Critical thinking skills and solution focused approach to problem solving
- Knowledge of Bloomberg, MSCI Barra, Thinkfolio or other front office systems would be preferable
- Thoroughness, reliability, and accuracy desire to work in a fast-paced environment
- Diligent, possessing a high degree of integrity and personal responsibility
- Ability to seize the initiative and to logically solve tasks and problems
- Intellectual and cultural curiosity – strong desire to progress
- Knowledge of Bloomberg, MSCI Barra, Thinkfolio or other front office systems would be preferable
- Collaborative mindset and ability to effectively interact with other AllianzGI teams
- Proficient user of the standard Microsoft office tools, particularly Excel. Coding skills in Python or MATLAB would be seen as a plus.
