The Senior Risk Manager, Mobility and Home & Digital, APAC is responsible for implementing and maintaining risk management processes aligned with Allianz Partners' Global framework and local regulations. They work closely with first and second line of defense leaders to identify, assess, and mitigate risks, ensuring the internal control system is effectively integrated.
This role offers opportunities to contribute to Global Risk Programs, lead initiatives, collaborate with multicultural teams, and drive best practices. The ideal candidate has strong experience, broad business knowledge, and operates with high autonomy, resolving complex issues and overseeing support teams to ensure effective execution of processes.
Location: Office base in Ratchatewi, Bangkok with hybrid arrangement (open to expats, no relocation package provided)
Reporting to: Head of Risk, Mobility and Home & Digital
What you do
- Oversee, coordinate and lead Risk management topics, including topics across global locations as required.
- Act as Single Point of Contact for Risk topics across the Asia Pacific region, monitoring the implementation and effectiveness of risk management activities.
- Develop and maintain a good understanding of the Az Partners business and liaise closely with management. Promote a positive Risk Culture within the business
- Assist in interpreting Group Risk standards and tailoring them for business unit implementation
- Facilitate the Risk management process and provision of Risk Program management (this includes among others, the Top Risk Assessment, Operational Risk Event Capture, and Non-Financial Risk Management), monitoring the implementation and effectiveness of risk management activities.
- Provide support for internal control programs and projects designed to identify and manage significant risks related between others to: Financial Reporting, Information Technology, Legal, Compliance and Operations
- Support with delivery of the Asia Pacific NFRM control test plan, working with stakeholders to address control deficiencies as appropriate
- Analyse incident trends and produce risk management information
- Support the management, monitoring and reporting of the Asia Pacific and global business operations risks.
- Conduct risk assessments to determine impacts of risk issues and facilitate appropriate escalation and implementation of the decisions, leveraging research and industry trends where applicable
- Provide feedback to inquiries relating to risk monitoring actions, and provide support and provide advice during decision-making processes.
- Support identification and review of tail scenarios applicable to the Mobility and Home & Digital insurance business
- Maintain and update risk registers, control libraries, action tracking and committee papers as applicable
- Support with organization, as well as lead and present 2LoD Risk materials and opinions in the Asia Pacific Regional Risk Forum, and other Line of Business / global meetings as required.
- Coordinate the effective implementation and maintaining of a network of 1st LoD Risk and Internal Control Champions, as well as the provision of risk training to the wider business.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field or equivalent combination of work and education experience.
- Risk Management or internal control accreditation or Accounting or Auditing qualification.
- 8+ years of relevant experience and demonstrated Risk Management Skills
- Fluency in English is required
- Demonstrated ability to lead independently and drive risk culture across the business and engage with sr. leaders across Az Partners business.
- Knowledge of best practices and trends in Enterprise Risk Management and internal control frameworks.
- Relevant quantitative skills enabling review of exposures across all risk categories
- Understanding of risk based capital and insurance solvency requirements is a plus
- Ability to take ownership and exercise independent judgment.
